Raised bed garden update on our raised beds and container vegetable gardening efforts here on the homestead. We will also provide links to our raised bed garden soil mix that show the amendments and additives we use in our raised bed garden box / boxes when growing fresh vegetables. We garden and harvest from last frost to first frost, and even in the snow. Gardening and harvesting are how we eat year round. These cool weather crops like the beans and brassicas fill our needs from anything lacking in the spring and summer harvests. We will also add a link to our Gardening playlist for information on how to plant, when to plant, and how to raise various crops. For now, we hope you enjoy our Fall garden !

  1. Wow I was lucky enough to hit the 1st like I would never pass you up without clicking that like button enjoy every video keep up the good work

  2. Looking forward to seeing what the mutant squash turns out to be. Bean bed looking good. I’m hoping weather holds out for me to get some green beans before the first frost here in Southern Illinois but it’s not looking good. Seems like we went straight from summer to winter here…no fall for us

  3. Would it help your brocolli plants if you cut off some of the sorriest looking leaves?

  4. Sorry about the beets greens, losing them is almost as bad as losing the beets! Lovely garden!

  5. I had pea plants in a pot that I kept in the garage I made it two weeks beyond first frost before I had to take them down. Have fun be safe Shannan

  6. I started my peas at the same time. I thought they were dying when the lower leaves started to die. Mine looks like yours😉 I must be on track😚😃😃😃😃

  7. Mark I told a friend and she said nnoooo. I said why not? She said I have hooves not thumbs.bwahaha

  8. I'm really surprised at how fast everything is growing. It's all looking pretty good! L8r

  9. Those are some nice looking broccoli . We planted some purple broccoli this year to try it. Started the seed back in Feb. so were hoping to have a fall crop from it this year . It has not did any thing yet and it's huge.

  10. I bought some zucchini seeds this year that were supposed to be the normal dark green and they turned out just like your mutant squash. Delicious anyway and they produced well. I have had two failed crops of three!!! different varieties of radishes this year. All of them went to tops. All of them. Any idea why that was? One patch might have had a bit too rich of soil, the the fall planted ones went in new ground that was just yard grass before. The chickens liked the tops so no huge loss.

  11. I am just now getting ready to plant my fall garden. We finally got a cool front come in today. It felt so good. 65 degrees. It will be back in the 80's in a few days. I planted my beets and am trying to get my cabbage, and cauliflower seeds to sprout. Have a Blessed Day!

  12. You can pick and eat small cabbage and brocolli and cauliflower leaves just cook like you would heads of cabbage, chop them up.

  13. Looks like you'll have a nice mess of okra seeds guys. The raised beds look great and the beans are loaded down for sure. Pinto beans are looking good too. Thanks for sharing y'all, Carl and Dawn Homestead

  14. Looking wonderful as always! You guys are absolutely awesome gardeners. Just awesome! TFS God Bless ~Lisa

  15. I think i have that blight on the broccoli. Ugh!!! I notice yesterday i have a couple volunteer tomatoes coming up in the garden.Trying decide whether to dig them up and see if they'll grow indoors or just not fool with it

  16. ,,,hello,,B,,B,,J,, things are starting to change here getting cooler and rain,,but it is looking wonderful there for sure,,would like to see how you cook them greens,, hope to raise a few beets next spring,, going to plant some other things soon when it drys a little,,,thanks for sharing,,

  17. Beet greens are good with or without sharing with the bugs. They had their share & now you'll get yours.

  18. I like the way you built your above ground garden. I did not know snow peas would live in all that snow, but I guess with the name snow peas it should have told me. LOL What kind of greens beans are you growing with the wax beans? They are so nice. I've had mutant squash before. It taste good, just looks funny. I have had acorn and yellow squash come back up. There would be green, yellow and green and yellow squash all on one vine. Cynthia

  19. we tried brussel sprouts and someone told us to pull off the bottom leaves. They did pretty good considering we planted them in the spring instead of the fall and we are in zone 8b-9aI want to try a fall garden but this year we had too many things going on.

  20. We would love to see a video of you guys planting your garlic and onions for the fall.. which will carry through the winter and into the spring right?
