Welcome to Morning Glory Farmstead! This channel is all about gardening, animals, and nature. My Fall GREENSTALK is full of a variety of greens and I have been eating them daily. They are delicious! In this video, I am enjoying some of the beautiful fall sights and I’m going to harvest sweet potatoes from the GREENSTALK Vertical Planter. These sweet potatoes have been in GREENSTALK for 120 days. I planted slips in each pocket of the entire GREENSTALK using organic potting mix and added worm castings when I first planted the slips. I added phosphate and potassium about 3 or 4 weeks ago but they were slow acting so I don’t think they did much. I show you what they look like and the difference between the sweet potatoes in the sweet potato GREENSTALK and the sweet potato that was grown in a completely different GREENSTALK. I grew Treasure Island Kaukura & Makatea Sweet Potatoes in one tier of my Original GreenStalk. (Just 3 pockets… I left space in between.)
They were hilarious looking!
Very long & twisty. They kinda looked like intestines. Tasted great though and I definitely want to grow more next year.
I think I might try again with more tiers in the GreenStalk but I also want to see how they do in the FarmDaddy. That would give them a little more space. Will have to be a little more creative with the vines though… The FarmDaddy doesn’t have the handy Plant Supports like GreenStalk to train the vines around! 🤓🌱
