I hope X will be something different than just a clone of WeChat. One guess I have is that X will use verified user accounts, like bank accounts, that really is tied to the real person.

Musk's only interest is what would benefit the human population the most. He's not driven by greed money or ego unlike the other supposed competitors in the market. He's done a good job of slowly earning people's trust through his actions. If something works and it makes sense and it's easy to use people will gradually migrate to this platform.

I tend to be leery of centralization, given how badly FB, Google & (previously) Twitter have abused their power. I have a lot of trust in Musk to “not be evil” (Google’s original guiding principle, which they later ditched). If he takes a similar approach to privacy as Apple, I’d trust X with my transactions, communications, etc.
