It sucks how you guys have such harsh winters that you cannot grow outside. I live in a sub-tropical environment, meaning we can grow all year round, except it still does get cold enough during winter mornings whereby summer crops (e.g., tomatoes) won't grow. But hey! On the other hand, you guys can experience proper 4 seasons weather, which is kinda cool. Spring time must be monumental as you fully see the landscape transform and the flora and associated fauna re-emerge 🥰

I live in MD, about an hour south of Cherryhill. I'm using woodchips and hay as the cover for my garden bed. Is that a bad idea.
