Begonia Erythrophylla (‘Beefsteak’ begonia): sits to the side of a small south facing window; receives probably just an hour of direct morning sun and very bright (200+ foot-candles) for the rest of the day. I’m forced to water it once a week because I’m only at church once a week so I have to check the soil carefully: if very dry, I soak thoroughly and leave water sitting in the dish (YES – I leave water sitting in the dish to be taken up gradually through the week because I know the plant is photosynthesizing enough that the water will be used up and thus, not sitting around for mold/bacteria to grow – there is no such thing as overwatering a correctly potted plant that receives enough light); if still somewhat moist, I just do a quick pour around the entire soil surface, which should be enough to keep the plant from going limp for the week. #houseplants #plantlove #plantlife #plantcare #begonia #begoniaerythrophylla #beefsteakbegonia #urbanjunglebloggers #indoorplants
