    Lovage is wonderful in soups and stews. It grows wild once planted, like 4-5’ tall. It re-grows every year and it doesn’t need much care.

    You have the white cabbage butterfly laying eggs which turn into catapillers. The white butterfly usually flies about 40 cm off the ground.They eat your entire plant in a couple of days. What you have done is the right idea but tulle may not be strong enough.. I'd look online for vegetable mesh. It will stand up to sun and weather. You must keep the butterfly from being able to land on any brassica just the same…kale, broccoli, cauliflower etc. Your garden looks fabulous BTW. I'm so jelly really because of your weather!!! Oh…also remove any old dead leaves away to a compost bin or pile as it is a place for catapillers to hide… you may seal one inside the mesh and not realise. Take care and God bless from the UK 🇬🇧.     We Have this in Scotland to. My understanding is that eggs are laid on the plant… So it is key that the netting dose NOT come in contact with the plant after worms are removed,,The butterfly will just lay more egg through the net if contact is made by the plant..Hoops are a good way of making sure that contact is not made.. when the plants are larger outer leaves can be removed to prevent the contact..     I tried to do the grow bags in pools last year and got eat up with mosquitoes 🦟. Hope you have better luck. All my plants are in the ground this year and I gave away my grow bags and pools.

    I'm so excited to find organic homesteaders in Texas! I just moved here and my family is skeptical of me wanting to grow food without pesticides. "East Texas is a jungle, you can't get by without chemical pest control," is all anyone in my town seems to say when I try to talk about permaculture and organic gardening. Seeing others do it gives me a boost of hope! Love your garden and your other food forest video.
