When Charlotte and Angus Buchanan of Buchanan Studio were looking for a blank canvas of a house to make into their family home, it was this Edwardian house in Harlesden, north-west London, that caught their eye. A series of clever structural changes followed, including a spectacular extension at the back to accommodate their kitchen, and then it was time to fill the house with the pieces of furniture and fabrics Angus designs for their eponymous interior design company. The finished project is now a generous, comfortable home for the couple, their two young children and their dog, and is packed with innovative, stylish ideas to copy.

  1. That is the first time I have ever seen a double pedestal sink. There were so many interesting and unique aspects of this home.

  2. Love the house…..but not the glass bricks and the ribbed glass panels in the reclaimed doors…otherwise it's stunning. Thank you for the tour.

  3. Interesting for sure, but elements don't jell for me. Exterior doors inside, delft tiles that would have been great but they are hidden behind the doors. All in all every room is full of random items that dont complement each other.

  4. I rarely comment on YT but will make an exception for this home …Totally GORGEOUS

  5. I am in love with your bedroom, and ensuite!! I really like how you have incorporated the wooden doors into the design. Stunning.

  6. Please please please show some diversity in the people whose homes you choose to showcase. I really do enjoy your content but I think you have a certain responsibility to celebrate people other than upper-middle class and white.

  7. Loved everything about this house! The colours, the relaxed homely feel…:and the lovely couple!

  8. Sweet home, full of sugary colours and very feminine. Not my style but really beautiful.

  9. Holy smokes, I’ve watched this three times now. Such a unique, gorgeous house, and love hearing their story!

  10. So lovely. The colors remind me of my childhood in CT – There's like a 1989 Beaches (Bette Midler/Barbara Hershey) coastal feel to it. Am I way off? Soft – Cozy – Timeless. I'm in love.

  11. Awesome vids but I’ll never understand the shaky camera work for certain shots. Really odd. It’s so consistent, it seems intentional.

  12. A beautiful spacious family home. They have some great ideas here. Especially love the ensuite bathroom where the shower & toilet are hidden in their own doorways. The kitchen is brilliant. I love the industrial stainless steel cabinets & worktops. I enjoy these videos so much. 👍🏼

  13. This is a wonderful home. It would be great to see some interesting personalities showcased too. A little more diversity would be smashing… race, class, personality, eccentrics, visionaries etc… I understand it is House and Garden and has a certain demographic and feel but it can feel a little dry at times. It is, however absolutely marvellous to get an insight into how a section of society do get to express their creativity in their homes. and greatly appreciate the fact that they share it with us the audience.

  14. Anyone else notice 10:58 Child's playroom. The highly poisonous plant? Perhaps it's a silk flower or children and pets are sensible 💀🙀
