You don’t need specialized fertilizers for all your garden plants. The NPK subtle differences are insignificant for a home garden. Most organic granular fertilizers have the same ingredients that often include chicken manure, bone meal, feather meal, sometimes blood meal, and other same old same old. The fertilizers work, just ignore the labels and buy one type for all your plants.

Like you say, you can make these mixtures yourself. I got a bunch of big bags of Garden Tone on sale a few years ago, and then got a small bag each of bone meal and blood meal for phosphorus heavy-root plants and nitrogen-heavy leaf plants, respectively.
