in this #shorts video, We look at whether gardeners quit because of the timing that they are able to rent or buy their garden to work on. Getting your garden later in spring will mean you do not have a chance to prep it ready for the growing season.

My community garden manager has had numerous attempts to coordinate an appropriate time line for rental and plot confirmation.
Our standard growing season is May to September.
Confirmation started with July, moved to May and recently switched to September, which I view as being ideal.
Far more people are taking better care of their plots and spending time and effort to improve the plot in the autumn in preparation for next spring.
👍
Hi Tony, Our council changed our year to end of September now, at least new folk can get a good start ready for next growing season.
Our allotment rent runs from March to March but we have a new plot owner just taken over this last couple of weeks. She is slowly digging over the land which is full of weeds. I am hoping the old boys don't offer to rotavate it for her, they seem to like rotavating and apparently she makes lovely cakes. What will win the good advice or the offer of cakes to the old boys haha I only met her last week so don't like to come in telling her what to do, I am hoping as the weeks go by I can offer advice without being like a know it all which I certainly don't, I have gardened for 50+yrs but only had a plot 4yrs and learnt what I know from the amazing you tube channels like yours, added to what I had already learnt over the years of an ornamental garden.
