Janey ur audio was bad when you were running around yelling couldnβt watch it.
Hi Janey πΊ garding cleaning , well done . your garden looks so beautiful. At the end of the video you and Jason made me laugh so much.Have awonderful day π»πΊπ»
Lucky you seeing a Monarch butterfly! So cute!
Good good morning Mrs Janey… i have couple of question: what is the name of the ivy with the purple beans? Do you have a heater on your green house? I am zone 9b Kearns Utah but I have snow.
Don't worry about the aphids on the milkweed as it's the end of season for them anyway. I'd cut them back throwing out seed for next year. The seeds like a little cold to germinate. Mine are perennial in Texas coming back each spring from the roots.
So funny! The monarch was beautiful!!
You can spray the milkweed with soapy water it will not hurt the butterflies
I loved your waddle fence so much that I ordered one from Home Depot( online only) a 48β length!
Nice to see your changes- thatβs what gardening is ? Love itπͺ΄
It would be hilarious if Jason was a caterpillar for Halloween. But idk if they make caterpillar costumers for grown men lol.
Happy Halloween Janey – a Monarch is a perfect costume for a gardener. I hope you, youur husband and girls have a Spooktacular day!!!
See what happens with your pink pentas. Here in 9a Louisiana, older people in the neighborhood told me they were perennials. I left mine and of course we had a hard winter. They came up in May again, and I was so happy.
As far as aphids – how about planting a sacrificial plant next to the milkweed? Like calendula?
The wasp predatorβs will take the aphid numbers down. Donβt worry! All of my various milkweeds get these aphids and recover just fine. I gently run my thumbs and for fingers along the stems and then squish the aphids. Between your careful efforts and the natural predators your plants will be okay. Spend your energy on what youβre able to do, and less on what you canβt.
Happy Halloween Madam Butterfly π¦
That was a great way for the start of the video. Amazing. I do have my fingers crossed for the next growing season for you to have monarch butterflies coming to your garden. There are a couple of ways that you can get rid of those aphids which are: Ladybugs, and a solution that needs to be direct contact on those pesky pests which is β’ 1 part (e.g. 1 oz) Blue Dawn
β’ 1 part Isopropyl Alcohol
β’ 1 part white vinegar
β’ 128 parts (e.g. 1 gal) water. Be careful not to hit the eggs or Larva. Another solution is to plant marigolds and onions close to the milkweed plant. Enjoy and have a wonderful day.
You make a beautiful butterfly Janey. Perfect Halloween costume for you this year! Have a wonderful week. π¦π¦π¦π¦
Love your into….you had me laughing so hard! The earwigs have been horrible for me this season too. I put a little dish with vegetable oil and soy sauce in the ground as a bait and it really helps knock down the population.
Try picking up a container of Lady bugs for your aphid problem.

πβ€ what a beautiful Monarch! Fun
That is one happy monarch butterfly π€£ Janey you crack me up! What a transformation your backyard did, everything looks amazing. Hope you and your family have a Happy Halloween ππ»π¦
Janey, out here in Rancho Murieta I had the worst problems with the aphids on my milkweed plants and earwigs on my lambs ears too! My leaves looked like yours and sluggo didnβt help. Iβm not sure what the answer is for those pesky bugs, but Iβll research and if you figure it let us know! You are a beautiful monarch! Have a safe and fun Halloween with your girls! Iris have rhizomes. πππ§ββοΈπ
My Supertunia Bubblegum has been in the ground for three years now! 9b Redding.
π€©π Janey thank you so much for the smile. I loved that intro. "Is that a Monarch butterfly" πππ¦
I use a spray bottle with water and a few drops of dish soap and spray the heck out of aphids. Works well and doesn't harm surrounding plants.
The end was so cute!
Re honeysuckle. What variety do you have? Is it evergreen?
The lamium under the hydrangea already looks incredible! Great eye!
That was fun. So glad the Monarch came to visit you! Your garden deserves it. Happy Halloween!
pentas come back in my zone 9a all the time. the tags aren't always right I know that from experience all of Houston treat caladium like a perennial but the plant tag says its zone 10.
Janie Wal-Mart and Wayfair have the Lutyen benches in white online. That would look beauitful. I have 2 Lutyen in my garden I bought a couple years back,
I see they have really increase in cost.
I got my online at Lowes then.
So awesome! Prettiest Monarch I've ever seen. Happy Halloween everyone!
the end was really good π€£π
Janie – I think youβll be very successful with the supertunias. Iβm in 9A Houston and I have some STV Silverberry in planters that are going on almost 3 years now. I did dig up the plants and brought them inside during the deadly βWinter Freezeβ crisis. But otherwise, I just cover them if we have a hard freeze and theyβre doing really well. Good luck!
Janey, you make a beautiful monarch butterfly. Love that costume.
Have a blessed Reformation Day πΏ
Your silliness resonates with me! π Love your costume!
My husband and I are dressing up as Grease characters! I'll be one of the Pink Ladies and he'll be a "greaser"! π
You're too funny, Miss Monarch, good luck with the Halloween contest. I had aphids all over my milkweed too, I'm moving it to my way back yard. I've never had an issue with them before, I'm not starting now, those plants can have the way back to themselves.
My Lamb's Ear looks exactly the same!! Completely riddled with holes! Are you sure that it's earwigs doing the damage? I have been finding alot of small green caterpillars on mine and I have been assuming they were the culprit?? How do you treat if it's earwigs?? I am in Modesto, CA. Same zone as you.
You fly girl! π¦π¦ Loving all of your creativity! Happy Halloween!
Most cute and beautiful monarch butterfly ever π₯°β€οΈπ
Itβs called Rhizome π
How fun! Love your costume and so appropriate for you and Halloween (wink). I had luck using dish soap/water/vinegar for the aphids and it didn't harm the monarch eggs or plants. I'm sorry you are having such a problem with aphids. Happy Halloween!
Beautiful garden ππ€
Beautiful gardens. The Supertunias are so easy to overwinter. Iβm in Ontario Canada, and Iβve been bringing my Supertunias inside every October (under grow lights in my basement), propagating more from cuttings and then replanting in May. The short period of time you are looking at is a piece of cake. They are fool proof plants. Love your channel so much! Thank you πΈπ
Hello! Iβm so excited to see you doing videos for zone 9b. I live in the central valley (Clovis) zone 9b. I love the color of your fence! How hot do your summers get? We have days in a row over 100 so itβs hard to find things that bloom during that period of summer with the exception of vincas. They bloom beautifully in the middle of summer and if I just let them die back in winter, 90% of them will come back in spring. I will look forward to your future videos. π
Omg you're opening was so funny, I laughed so hard tears came out!! Another great video, the yard looks nice. Thank you for again for the big belly laugh, you're a beautiful monarch
Happy Halloween ! Nicely done…Question: Which variety of Hyacinth Bean vine is that on the patio cover?
