    RIP

  5. Great tribute, I feel his memory and priorities will live on and reefers will be better for it. To proper names, enjoying corals for the amazing animals they are and not what they can be commercialised for, and the enthusiasm for all animals of the reef and not just what's in fashion at that moment. Rip Jake. X

  6. When you loose a real friend, you question if you had done enough and were you really the friend you thought you had been to them. This can either leave you hollow or resolute that you could not have done more, and I can tell from your reminisce on the final trip he took that you were a real friend.

  7. I watched this video about 8 or 9 hours ago. I was shocked to hear the news. I only know him from macna, I'm not sure the year. 2006/5 San Diego . He wanted to learn about us; Not because we were well known. But, we were apart of the industry. he spent time with us and made us feel apart of it. I truly wish the best and my condolences!

  8. Unbelievable Couldn't believe when I saw the announcement because he looks so young and healthy. Thanks Jake, for everything you've done. Beautiful store. Those tanks are looking pristine.

  9. May you rest in peace Jake, great and emotional video, I honestly think I still can't believe it, but Jake will always be remembered as a great, and he will always be missed.

  10. Very cool guy. He always answer any question I would ask in the comments. You could definitely see his passion for the hobby. R.I.P jake

  11. Than, what a great tribute, thanks for that. I think you summed up Jake very well, never met him, being a small reefer in Australia, but felt like I had because of watching all of his YouTube clips, thanks for your video, I’m still devastated and can’t actually fathom what has happened, I’m lost for words,,,

  12. It’s so funny, you can tell by all of the comments in videos honoring Jake that he was probably challenging to interact with. Phrases like “we may not always agreed” is telling. Also, the phrase “so and so is so and so” was running through my mind as I watched this video which is another euphemistic phrase that is used to describe someone who can be challenging. So I laughed when after I thought it while watching this video, Than said it. 😂

In the end, we respected Jake for his vast knowledge and loved what he did for the hobby. I enjoyed him and his passion for the hobby and this is still very shocking news to me. I will miss him. His presence was unmatched.

  13. I learned alot from Jake and it was always so awesome to hear from him in the comments section. I couldn't believe that he was gone when j saw the article on reef builders. We will miss him and a great loss for the reef community. I hope that wherever he is now he can continue on reefing. Thank you Jake. May you RIP.

  14. Wait what. Jake adams is gone. This is the worst month ever. First my brother last year at 42 and my brother in law at 42 this week then i find out jake adams passes at 42

  15. Amazing tribute Than!!! Jake will surely be missed and may he Rest in Peace.

  16. Praying Jake's in heaven surrounded by the most magnificent reef of his human dreams, and being fed all the secrets to the ocean we all wonder about in this life, from God!

  17. I'm not usually a commentor. I have to just thank you with my own words and not just a like. When I heard of his passing , I was genuinly sad! I'm not a guy to get caught up on public figures. But, Jake was just a voice that you HAD to listen to. His philosophy on reefing was truely one of a kind and yet so down to earth! As you are someone who actually KNEW him, I'm genuinely sorry for your loss. RIP Jake.

  18. hard to fill Jake's shoes…he really knew just about everything yet was only 42😟

  19. What a loss to our reefing community, I don't know what else to say except to send my deepest condolences to Jakes family and friends.

  20. Thank you for making this video, you hit the nail right on the hammer about Jake, for over 12 years we've been talking about Corals and Corals and more corals, and how to keep them well. It just felt like a part of me is gone with him. Jake I'm already missing you bro…

  21. Than, thank you for posting this and sharing your views. This is incredibly sad all the way around.😔
