Growing Elephant Ears in Pots | Container Gardening
Hello! My name is Bethany and I grow things in my rooftop container garden in Chicago. In this video, I’ll be planting an elephant ear bulb in a pot for my balcony garden.

I am trying this! Already bought the bulb. What can I expect as far as growth before I plant in the ground in May? Will there be anything that is showing? And what happens to all that potting soil do I just pull the bulb out of the pot and plant in the ground?
I have bought the bulbs in a local Asian store, that sells them for eating. I have grown one last year but it had a few small little leaves and it got thrips and mealybugs 😳 I have overwintered it in a paperbag, but it grows really slowly this year (last year I started it in summer, probably that's why).
I had 2 elephant ear plants! Kept downstairs in back room with lights on through the winter. I have also kept them in family room all winter. I water about every 2 weeks in the winter! I had these 2 plants about 4 yrs. Got rid of them last year because they were so big! Started a new bulb today! I’m in zone 5b just about 160 miles south of you!

Very nice sharing, good video
Just wondering why you do not cover your drainage hole with screening? Your soil will continue to leak.
