  2. Hello Prepper Potpourri! Got to have a good pair of gloves and yes, my hands are small too. I really like your cat, will have to check that out. Have a blessed day!

  3. I can’t believe I’m awake this early, 6:45. My garden tools consist of a couple of trowels, a wheelbarrow, and clippers. With the exception of flowers, I don’t usually have a summer garden. It’s just too hot down here. We will start a fall garden in September. I very much enjoy your videos they’re very informative and I’ve learned a lot from you. Now, I will take a little nap. Enjoy your day.

  4. Great tools and references! Many years ago I watched a program on PBS with Barbara Damrosch and Eliot Coleman and their gardens in Maine. I longed to have seaweed to help my compost heap! It’s time to separate the wheat from the chaff in my books. I hope to run onto a couple of their books in the dust of my bookshelves🥸

  5. I have that gorilla cart and I love it! It's a work horse!

  6. Flex rake but a full sized one. All I’m seeing is a 12” one. Life changing. I got it at ace hardware. I admired the plot next to me at the community garden and they told me what they used to keep their weeds down so well.

  7. I love love love my broad fork, and my gorilla cart, and my rolling tractor seat. They all my gardening so much easier and I’m not as young as I used to be so easier is better

  8. Good morning, my favorite garden tools are my small piece of pvc pipe I use to plant my seeds from a standing position. Just walk along and drop a seed down the pipe and cover the row. I also have the gorilla cart. So easy to put and you can easily attach to the riding mower for a smaller trailer.

  9. since i only have my apartment deck to grow on I only have 2 tools, a Fiskars trowel and a roadside find barbecue fork for mixing my compost. I have one book on my Kindle, the Green Wizard's Guide

  10. A great find at Goodwill was two plastic totes for kids' toys. Big tubs, rope handles, got them for $2/each. I can't carry them one-handed tho. Love, love my garden cart – birthday present from hubs a few years ago after he saw me and the wheelbarrow tip over – lol. I just saw the coolest garden tool called a Roto Planter: an auger which fits on an electric drill for digging plant holes. Of course, I saw it AFTER I dug 100 holes with my ancient bulb planter. Since my gloves disappear faster than socks in the washing machine, I bought a box of 50 textured nitrile gloves. They're a tad large but they work. I'm going to check out the books you showed! Thank you 🙂

  11. I have a wheelbarrow that my Grandfather made probably about 60 years ago. It's a bit bashed about and it just got a new wheel but it has outlasted any number of new-fangled wheelbarrows/carts which all disintegrate within a couple of years.

  12. My absolute favorite tools are my soil-blockers. I have a Micro-20 and a Mini-4 (with square dibbles).
These are fun to use and once I've got the soil-blocks made it's super-easy to start seeds (ONE seed per block) and when the seeds have sprouted, I can set aside those that didn't germinate and I DO NOT have to waste any seeds or seedlings with thinning.
Keep in mind, thinning is the by-product of using the over-seeding method in case of low germination. (Planting 3x more than you need, in case they don't all sprout.) This way I can plant a bunch without wasting any. I always plant more than I need and with good seeds I always end up with more than I need. But that's okay; I plant them anyway. (If I plant just the right amount and they don't all germinate… I can still plant more. But that takes extra time, so I'd rather deal with the extras.)
If I do have too many extras, I can offer them to my neighbors for their gardens. (Even zucchini! If it's too early to harvest them, then they haven't had time to get tired of them yet. LOL)

I really LOVE the square dibbles in the Mini-4, which are the same size as the Micro-20 soil blocks. Up-potting is a breeze! I'm still up-in-the-air on whether the best thing about these is the fun or the up-potting or the NOT having to buy loads of containers. IF I started seeds too early or there's a cold snap and I have to up-pot them again… well, there's always red Solo cups. I have many.
If you haven't tried starting seeds at home with soil blocks, you're missing out.

  13. Ordered the Hori Hori Knife yesterday and received it today. It’s absolutely beautiful. I also ordered the gloves which is nicely made. Thank you for your recommendations.
