All the big box store’s garden centers are open and allowed to sell items during our lockdown (Stay-at-Home-Order) so I venture out to Costco, Walmart and Canadian Tire to see what is available..It may be still early but I was disappointed to find a very limited selection of items available. #HerhomesteadSkills #Costco #Walmart #CanadianTire #GardenCentre

I don’t understand the restrictions either. Why can’t a person get the supplies they need?? You are in my thoughts to find what you need.
Our local plant greenhouse is allowed to open next Monday, May 3. I made arrangements to go in today and picked up 3 types of tomatoes, a variety of peppers, celery, cabbage. I have them in my greenhouse along with all of the plants that I started 2- 4 weeks ago. Also picked up 100 lbs of seed potatoes, and 12 bags of onion sets. We are all set for planting 15000 square feet of garden.
It's so stupid what is going in. In our Country Hardware Store and Garden Center are the same Shop. Garden Center is open but Hardware Store not.🤦
You did a good job Toni. I know we have planning zones here in the US do you have something like that in Canada or when is your like last frost date. I know you are in Canada but I have no clue exactly where you are can you give a general area I guess I'm just being nosy no real other reason although I do try to look at maps and see how far people are from me and what areas they are I try to watch the weather and things and do pray for them when they are having poor weather. I am north of Columbus Ohio we are not snowing but we're having truly crummy weather windy rainy overcast today is just plain crappy. Take care and God bless I am enjoying what you're giving us
🌧🌧 I went to Walmart yesterday morning, walked right in the rain. The garden center was open to my great surprise, 🌺🌼 flowers, 🍎🍐 fruit trees and 💐💐 ornamental plants, even some rhubarb. No vegetables yet.The employee was kind and right there with me, rain and everything.
Went inside. Now all the garden seeds have disappeared. Why??
😎❤ Some garden seeds can be found at dollar stores, but the selection is not great.
However I do know that you can plant any kind of dry beans from grocery stores, 🌻🌻🌻 raw sunflower seeds, and popcorn too, well to have more 🍿 popcorn.
You can scoop out the seeds from, 🍅🍅 tomatos, 🌶🌶 peppers, cantaloupes, melons, 🎃🎃 winter squashes, and dry them. Also they will grow just fine, if straightaway planted in the garden.
Not much of anything the gov is doing makes any sense. Craziness!
I noticed a lot more soil, manure, mulch etc is being sold this Spring. It's either that or their stock is lower than last Spring. I haven't been to Costco since mid March. Not fair that smaller retailers aren't allowed to sell gardening goods. But I did notice when I went to Dollarama before the lockdown, they had slim pickings for garden stuff compared to previous years. Good video 👍😊
Hey Toni, thanks for the shopping visit. I can’t believe the items that can’t be purchased there. Where is the logic? It’s always good to see you .
Toni, thank you for the shopping tour. Still not seeing any logic or reason but then again, what else is new? You can buy seeds but you can't buy the shovel to turn the soil so you can plant the seeds. Very strange.
Thanks for sharing
Thanks, Toni for sharing your shopping tour. It's sad that the public is limited on what can or can't be purchased. It makes no sense other than it just shows who the big money people are. It's all about them. My father calls it "big I and little you." Keep your head up and look forward. Hopefully, this nonsense will end soon.
Greetings from Texas! So sad to see the restrictions on what you can purchase for plant and garden needs
