charcoal is lightweight and very absorbent, and many benefits of charcoal related in these traits such as : drainage, as a highly effective slow release fertilizer and remove the harmful effect of pesticides.
In your garden, adding charcoal to the potting soil or potting mix is an effective method. You can use it as a potting material by adding it into potting mix or potting soil for plants. Charcoal make the soil crumbly and charcoal pieces will have air pockets for adding oxygenation. You can place two inches of charcoal at the bottom of terrarium or pot for good drainage. Activated charcoal can do lighten the growing potting soil.
There are many types of charcoal. Natural charcoal made from biomasses such as wood, will give the best result. Commercial charcoal often contain additives materials, so they are less beneficial.
You get hardwood and soft wood charcoal. Hardwood charcoal is the best for gardening. You get charcoal from coconut, bamboo, activated charcoal. Just use the hardwood charcoal for gardening.

    Thank u mam I tried wood charcoal mix for my hibis + Adeniums + rose plants and uphorbia milies 2yrs now they are doing well and healthy One +point is weeds won't grow in this mix Thank u for ur vedio

    Plz help can i use charcoal purchased from coal depot in my potting soil or do i have to buy activated charcoal?
