“Buy once, cry once” is designer Natalie Chong’s mantra when it comes to investing in long-lasting pieces that will elevate your lifestyle. The principal designer of Nest Design Studio recently helped her clients transform their underutilized Toronto backyard into a luxurious urban retreat. A built-in BBQ with prep space and storage means the cook isn’t closed off from the fun. The family of four can dine alfresco on the patio and lounge in a cabana outfitted with a working fireplace, heaters, TV and a cozy seating area from spring to fall. To extend the season, a small plunge pool doubles as a hot tub and reaches 100 degrees in 20 minutes! See how Natalie carved out a change room, and discover her budget advice for choosing outdoor furniture.

Beautiful , but I live in the land of wind and dust, There would be a lot of maintenance on the actual chairs, covers wash pretty easy and won't fade from the sun. Nice job!
What a transformation! 👏
I feel so bad when she said that size yard was generous for the big city 😆Amazing work of the size available but my backyard is like five times that size! You get way more space when you live in small cities and towns!
White cushions…very brave!! Genuine question: Do you put those away whenever it rains? I cover mine, even though they are “weather proof”
As usual beautiful, timeless, and elegant design. Everything she does is high level and gorgeous. Thanks for the video. This goes to show what can be done with a smaller backyard space.
I love her designs every time!
White doesn't blend in with Nature – it's too jarring! Also, how could the neighbors tolerate the noise of a television?
This is Beautiful for the space!! STUNNING😍
Magnifique 😍
Very beautiful but no grass or nature any more. It looks good because all neighbours have big trees.
For a healthy environment even small gardens need bushes and flowers for bees and other insect.
Whoa! Wow. Wait! Will we be invited inside someday? Thanks for a great show!!!
Beautiful! Good idea for the pool that transforms into a hot tub! Love that you shared your resources, thank you!

Natalie is back. Yay!
Stunning design!! Well done to Natalie and the home owners. ❤
Nicely done Nat. I look forward to your projects with the monochromatic theme. Those are really good. Very soothing and simple in its own artistic fashion. You gave me tonnes of ideas to work with. Just awesome! Do hope you get more projects highlighting this genre. I love watching all of em. All the best!
Lord!! The money they must have spent on this lavish makeover!! Anything with a pool must be super expensive.
Beautiful backyard and getting a lot of use out of the space. This could also be an alternative to having a cottage. Best guest on cost would be 150k-200k to do that backyard all in 😊
We are in a RECESSION.
PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW,
HOW MUCH DID ALL THIS
COST?
INCLUDING THE FURNITURE.
