Growing orchids indoors is possible by putting them in an east-facing window, watering them with lukewarm water and wiping the leaves dry with a clean cloth. Thank you!
Thannks!!! Lifesaver
Every gardening site should mandatory have video/picture how to do
🙂
Thank you SO much for this video! I have been trying to regrow my orchids but any website (even though helpful) don't have pictures or video showing the steps in cutting or where to cut exactly… so thanks!
my therapist will love this.
yes. i'm crazy.
thanks for those little tips! I didn't know drying the leaves was good!
this video is very helpful, I have an Oncidium which has finished flowering what should I do now? Should I just prune back the spike
how do u pop the flowers off when they are done blooming? do u pop them off at the base of the flower stem right next to the main plant stem? mine just fell off, is that ok? will they grow back? my boyfriend and i r worried that we may have hurt it:( its very special and we dont want it to die and just get another one…
id think youd use rain water instead of tap.
If your orchid lose leaves, she isn't fine.
It's true that the orchid make grow periodically new leaves but the oldest ones should not die!!
When they are little they have small leaves and when they are grown they lose that leaves, but it isn't the same for the ones!!
Cheers thanks for sharing!
My jaw just about dropped to the floor when you watered that!!! absolutely NEVER water a phal like that ( allowing the crown to get water in it) that is a sure fire way to kill one!!!
NEVER water your favorites with tap water…chlorine kills good bacteria in soil, fluoride stunts plant growth, salts slowly poison the roots.yes your plants will live (usually), yes they will grow new flowers etc. but if you want yur plant to FLOURISH treat it like your baby. distilled or purified water only…DONT use mircle grow, or any other synthetic fert. use organic as it doesnt kill the good bacteria in the roots and cause dependency for the plants. and tell them how beautiful they are:)
its not east its north or south i heard
I though that the air needed to get to the roots using a pot with holes…am I right? I am still confused as to the watering technique.
There is bad info all over place,
So I think I need to be a bit more specific. I have very limited experience with orchids. The type of plants I grow come from similar conditions that are just as sensitive. I grow carnivores. When I had to learn about the plants I grow, I also had to gave basic knowledge of Orchids, It saddens me to see that someone is promoting to wet a house plants leaves in an area that is known for high humidity and poor air circulation. Wet leaves, or a crown that can not dry is the death of that plant.
So helpful! That's a LOT of water, but I'll try it tha
A little paper came with mine and it said to use 3 ice cubes to water it. So which way works better?
I have a nice collection of Tillandsia "ball" plants, which are doing quite well. Orchids are my new passion and I'm in the process of starting a collection. Thank you for your tips. They're very much appreciated. 🙂
Thank you so much. I have never been able to grow an orchid. Now I have renewed hope of doing so!
Nice watering that will get severe crown rot
Never pour water in the center of the plan unless its hanging upside down on a piece of bark /cork. This way will encourage crown rot especially if conditions are humid.
what do you call that style of vase?
I've watched 3 videos and so far none of them show the perfect proper way to grow and care for orchids…all of them contradict each other…ugh! sigh!…guess I'll keep searching.
do not water the plant in the center because you will rot the crown.
So much wrong information lmao. Expert village is always severely lacking in experts
Oh my God the crown!!!!!! That's crazy! lol
I literally cringe whenever I see people watering Orchids like
Somewhat a novice approach but I appreciate the video nonetheless.
She has no idea what is she doing. Wrong information dear, you have lots to learn before make a you tube video regarding Orchids.
I am told 3 ice cubes only one a week, they like to be dry ?
