For those who GARDEN: I lay dark plastic down on the lawn, weight it down with old boards and sheets of metal and let it cook in the sun all spring, summer and fall so that the next spring I can rototill the dead grass and dead roots into the soil and plant a new garden. There is a lot of nutrients in the top grass root layer. The garden grows great and the grass does NOT grow back.

I have a question, in south carolina is it a good idea to store alot of chicken scratch and layer pellets in an enclosed trailer, it's tight, no rodents can get in but it heats up inside? any idea if a trailer would work?
Thanks Travis you exactly right about teaming up. In our local area we are starting up a “home grown” group where people can bring once a month their seeds to swap or extra seedlings and later on vegetables etc or anything homegrown to benefit the community. Our goal isn’t to necessarily make money but share and involve our community. We’re also looking into a FB group where folks can publish extra harvest crops they have of in an effort to get this extra out to members of the community instead of going to the stores to buy
