Planting out Leek seedlings grown in a 2 system container using free food grade barrels in Southern California. I’m filling the barrels with soil straight from my garden. After 4 years sitting under woodchips my garden soil is loaded with organic matter. Rich with Humic substances the best garden soil money can’t buy! A quick late Fall/Winter tour of the chop and drop garden section where I grow living compost for Bananas and my new set up for growing plants in the Allium family.

  1. This video provides good detail on how to plant young leeks and other onions. Thanks Gary, your garden looks luscious inspite of the lack of recent rains.

  2. Wow you guys came along way in a fue short years. I watched the planting video but was also admiring everything else growing in the background.

  3. G’day Gary -Really appreciate the effort, information & just everything you & Robbie share with us – a big thumbs up👍from “sunny” Melbourne,Australia

  4. Love your idea of using your barrel planters for your hose guide! Great video…thank you for sharing 🙂 🌻

  5. Thanks Gary. I learned something new. Will you use a compost in place bucket to feed the leeks? You make it look easy. I hope they all grow. Blessings

  6. Thanks for your thoughts Gary. I hope all works well. I don’t think leeks will grow where I live. Blessings

  7. So clever and so practical! Tubs as hose guides . . Ingenious. Gonna try leeks when “stay at home is over” (if we’re so fortunate). Eat what you grow. I like Robbie’s double container system.
