  1. Thank you Scott, I only had a small space to plant my garlic in the ground. I think I will try some in containers. It was nice to see how much mulch you used. 😀

  2. This is great! I live in an apartment with a sunny balcony and I've been wondering if I could grow garlic in buckets. Hello from Ontario! Thanks also for adding the metric units as well 🙂

  3. I like the idea of growing a lot of garlic, but I cringe to leave beds empty July – August – September. After you harvest do you plant something to utilize the rest of the summer? If so, what? Does garlic have pests requiring rotation?

  4. 💚 Perfect timing 💚 I'm in Arizona (50 mi South of Flagstaff) and our first hard frost won't be till about Thanksgiving. Q…so these garlic cloves don't need 8 weeks of refrigeration prior to planting? Correct? I read this somewhere and had never heard of this beforehand. Tia…Gardener Scott

  5. I'm done sitting tight for the award advance since i acquire$23,000 every 12 days of my investment, in all you do put God first.❤

  6. We just planted garlic today for picking next July. Have done this about three years. Fun to do

  7. I ❤ Garlic😊
My concern in a garden bed they dig say 2 inches down to protect the clove, due to depth it won’t freeze, hence over wintering.
In Australia we just plant, or I do, but no more than an inch deep, no snow or harsh winters, some exceptions apply.
My concern in pots in snowy cold conditions in at wet or at least moist pot the mulch protects the clove from above, but what protects the sides of the pots?
In a garden the soil around the sides are protected from the cold.
Note this may all depend on how cold it gets in your zone…

  8. Great timing we were just planning when and where to plant garlic. Expecting our first frost any day now. TFS 👍🧄

  9. Good timing I had about 16 cloves left and will give the containers a try, cheers Vancouver Island Canada .

  10. had three nights of freeze here a few weeks ago so i planted my garlic. filled one raised bed with 4 types and then gave my extra cloves to a fellow gardener. Didnt think about containers so making a note for that next fall…….

  11. Just planted a few different kinds of hardneck garlic, about 120 bulbs, from porcelain to Mexican purple. Can hardly wait for the scapes. The scapes are almost my favourite crop! Thanks for all you great advice. Nakusp, British Columbia. Not sure I planted my cloves deep enough, but I did cover with a decent layer of mulch. Fingers crossed.

  12. Great video. I love growing garlic in containers. I have a few more soft necks to get in my pots. I love the idea of growing garlic in the green stalk!

  13. My garlic in grow-bags froze to death over my harsh winter last year. It also froze to death when I planted it in my raised bed the year before that. I've always attempted only hardback in 7-10 gallon grow-bags. I'm in zone 5b, Upstate NY. Any advice for those of us trying to grow garlic in grow bags in such harsh climate conditions.
