Dang, y'all have neighbors! I figured ya'll lived on 100 acres off the grid. Lol. Lucky neighbors! Love learning from ya'lls channel. Thank you for sharing! ❤Shanna
Good morning Pat 😀
I've seen trees being taken down all of my life, but, never did I know the names of each of the connection thingys. Thanks to YOU, I do NOW! 😀
You're planting fruit trees, and I am about to go out and shovel the first snow of the season! LOL!!!
Love & prayers <3 <3 <3
That's a very good idea though! Patrick's shoe was so good! 🙂
You know Pat, there's some of us that have been homesteading for 30 years, that had never seen that Choker Bell before. Where did you get it?
Wow Pat. That tree will make a lot of beautiful wooden creations in the future once it has cured !!!
They use similar chain and locking mechanisms, just bigger by hundreds of times to keep huge passenger ships and car ferries attached to the bollards at docks. The chains they use for the passenger ferries are bigger arond the individual links than my thighs but the mechanisms are exactly the same shapes, they just need two men to pick them up. Lol. Real shame we missed the TIMBERRRRR moment but I think you had a lot more on your mind than video Pat. That's next year's firewood sorted then, but it'll feel weird for a while without the tree there.
Great video…and yes Mr. Rain those little things matter. I have to do alot of things myself (just due to my husband's work ,and me just loving to try anything ) so you did good. Thank you both I so enjoy and learn from your videos
We used to cut our own firewood and now every time I hear a chainsaw it brings back memories lol. I love the sound of a chainsaw
Boy would I like a crane to help me out too!
I see lots of new wood work projects coming in the future, thanks for sharing, blessings
I look forward to seeing yout fruit trees! I cant wait to move off the base, so my hubs and can start our own homestead. We do what we can living in base housing though. 💚💚🌴🌴
I'm trying to get my husband to take down a couple of black walnut in my new orchard. I need more room for fruit trees and bushes and would love to have that beautiful wood to work with.
Nice job Mr. Rain. Nice wood projects perhaps, although nothing better burning than an Ash Tree, smells heavenly. I like the sound of fruits trees. Self sustainable is the way to go.
Did you get a pollinator for the cherries? There were 5 trees here when we moved in, 3 Bings and 2 Raniers . The orchards around us all have pollinators planted throughout. That’s just always what I’ve heard. I’ve never checked on it because I wasn’t planting them myself. I did make sure to get a pear tree that didn’t need a pollinator when I planted, but have a Golden Delicious to act as a pollinator for the Fuji apple. The apricot and peach don’t need one. My hubby is envious of the wood You will have to work with Patrick. He’s been looking for a good lathe so he can get into turning out some bowls, as he can find the wood. 😉 Once again, thanks for the video. Always enjoyable. 😊
Great job!!! We've got some really large water oaks up against our house that need to go. We don't have a bucket truck, but you've inspired us to give it a go!
Nice job mr rain!
Patrick and Al (Lumnah Acres) and their super toys for taking out stumps, makes me want to have some super toy too – oh wait, our tree is long gone LOL Good choice: cherry and plum to replace the old ash!
Mr. Lumberjack did a great job!
You're pretty handy with that backhoe, Mr. Rain. 😀 Too bad you had to sacrifice the Ash tree, but good idea to make room for fruit trees!! And, YUM, you're replacing it with Bing Cherries…my favorite. OMGosh…just think what Heidi can do with those. 🙂 Still looking for some Bing trees to add to our orchard over here in Northeast Washington State. Right now, we have a couple Tartarians and some pie cherries, but I really love those Bings!! 😀 Now, tho', we'll have to wait until next spring to look for those trees. We had our first snow fall today and the temps are in the low 20s. Brrrrrrrrrrr……….. Thanks for sharing. <3
Cedar trees are bad for Apple trees. The can give them cedar rust. Fyi
I don´t think I have congratulated you both, yet. CONGRATS, ON REACHING 20,000 SUBSCRIBERS. Appreciate all you do! Love, Izzy.
Wow!! Catching up on videos and this was quite something to watch first thing in the AM!! What a job!! But you brought back so many nice memories. When my MIL decided that she wanted to put fruit trees in her front yard, my FIL had to take down a huge weeping willow. What a job!! After he was done, he said “If i can do that, I can do anything!”! He had such a homesteader’s heart. God rest his soul…I am confident that he is homesteading in heaven!! 😇 I was thinking firewood when I saw it all…and Heidi made me laugh when she said…Firewood!! We’ve got plenty of that!! You two are always SO well prepared!! All the best, Mary 😀😀😀
