  1. I buy a beige cup for my coffee to feel if it's the color is for me or not. The cup have 3 shades of beige, its realy beautiful but I moved it around the office and the bedroom. I dont know yet it's a color for all in my house.

  2. Done with open shelving because of the dusting-I even put a decorative curtain over a 6' bookcase from under its top trim.

  3. To me, "beige" is another word for some version of neutral. Our home is a curated collection of good antiques, beautiful old wood, and modern upholstered furniture and lighting. They combine to counterpoint and contrast each other, but harmoniously. Twenty percent of our home decor is "new" at any given time, the rest are collected antiques with warm patina that sets a backdrop for other items in the space. This time of year, we love layering in warm camels and caramels and cocoas in our otherwise neutral home. They're sort of like a fire in the fireplace. These accessory neutrals feel nurturing, welcoming, and upscale to me. I transition into the fall and winter seasons with these warm-colors, played in layers of throw pillows, throws, candles, woods, and cozy lamp lighting. Together, they lend both an elegant and casual vibe that aligns with our style.

  4. Not a fan of faux or dried flowers. What I have started to love are the paper flowers that look real. 😍 I tend to buy fresh greens and some flowers but if you want something that lasts the paper ones are gorgeous

  5. Not drawn to the black and white contrast. On a world of color it leaves me wanting . I just viewed a Ralph Lauren inspired maximalist house on one of the house tour Chanel’s and it spoke to me. This designer incorporated pieces from his grandparents (mostly art related) but every piece in the house was so intentional. This house wasn’t gorgeous because it was based on trends, it was gorgeous because it was curated with high and low end pieces that the designer loved, and it showed. The maximalism Ralph Lauren style was stunning. Each room was eye candy for me and felt like a curated hug. It did leave me wondering if he had a full time housekeeper because dusting would be a huge task, but this house inspired me in every room because of the fact that it didn’t chase trends, it had beloved, bespoke art, repurposed old and new pieces, volumes of good taste and timeless style.

  6. Ok. Wait. You are speaking from a very cold, albeit lovely, room. But, you profess hating lacquered white furniture because it’s cold. Huh? In small doses, I LOVE white lacquered furniture as long as it’s NOT, IKEA. The shiny white provides a break from rich wood grains on furniture and floors. I buy nothing from IKEA because it dates quickly and it’s cheap, thin, particle board, thin finishes, doweled yuck furniture with Swedish meatballs on the side to distract…Love your videos and thanks for getting my blood pressure up. Lacquered furniture forever!!

  7. Yes, I agree, Cottage core is lasting if you have a cottage!! Just like farmhouse belongs in a what? A Farmhouse.

  8. I think flowers no matter they are real or not, or dried or not cycle around. This is something that is easy to change. I see open shelving as extra areas to clean more often than regular cabinets.

  9. I am past grays. when beige and gray mixed I loved it. We moved at the peak of grey and white everything, however I painted my new house in the acceptable beige color from sherman williams. with that being said, I have decorated with colors so that not everything is beige. beige in the winter time like, January, February would be depressing if you had no color in a time there is very little color. I think a lot of it is the time of the season and where you live. everything comes and goes and comes back again.

  10. I couldn’t agree more with your thought that “theme-y” decor is too much! I am a decor omnivore; adding elements of what I like, here and there, rather than going “all in” on a particular style. I also don’t want to have a hectic, disorganized look either, so I’m trying to use things I love as an accent or focal point. How to tie it together is my challenge – what do you suggest?

  11. I love her, I am dying with laughter, watching her struggle to be politically correct. She laughs when she knows she may be failing. Where is the husband when you need him?😂😂😂

  12. Hey there! Where did you get the greenery in your black vase behind you? Thanks in advance.

  13. One of the things that makes me happy is being outside on a crisp autumn day and gathering dried flora and branches from nature, arranging a large bouquet in a few handmade pottery vases, and placing them sparingly around my home. I like to add a few high end glittery flowers and pods for Christmas to my arrangements. After the holidays the glittery bits are replaced by greenery which is left to dry naturally in the vases with the dried arrangements. All is tossed in the spring and replaced with real greenery and/or flowers through out the spring and summer. A natural cycle that is different every season is refreshing for me. Like Valentina, I like to change my decor accessories. I have a shelving unit in the garage where I store different objects I love and use these to switch up things around the house. When I am tired of something, it gets passed on and replaced with a new loved object. For me, a neutral home is very relaxing and comforting. I love ivories, beiges, browns, and blacks, neutrals with contrast and different textures. The wonderful thing about decorating is that it is an expression of individuality and each of us can choose what we love!

  14. I just love beige on beige, taupe, etc. I love the monotone look that is broken up with different accessories. I find it very calming and soothing, instead of the intense colors all over. Since I redid my home, I love coming home from work and just, relax.

  15. I still can't convince myself to throw out my dried wedding flowers, from over a year ago. Although, they are hidden in a closet currently. 😅

  16. I notice black and white contrast is in and I love the way it looks but it really reminds me of the 90's when we used black alot. It seems very cold and monotone. I wonder how much staying power that will have. I really love warmth and coziness in a home. I think the "feeling" the space invokes should be the main goal.

  17. Being a designer is a advantage..which I am.. with that said…
    So many factors are involved…
Maturity in taste understanding how to put it all together..
Like it or not, comes down to money…quality requires
Money.. What I had in my twenties…never would I have today..as a older person, I can have what ever I choose…just do you wherever your at in life…

  18. I prefer nice quality faux flowers than dried. Dried look too dead for me. I like to mix modern with classic furniture and decor.

  19. Cottage decor has been around a very long time. I think it will always be here. However, for me I love it here and there. I have a few pieces in my home that work well with my more contemporary decor.

  20. I hate press wood! So glad someone said it. Totally understand why financially, and It was all of my furniture in college. It is definitely a hold over piece.

  21. When I redid my kitchen last year, I had the option of open shelving…and I realized I had kitchen equipment that needed to be stored and I don't want to stare my my toaster and blender all day! So cabinets it was! 2) Cottage Core is literally people's grandma style and modern style is going to be someone grandma's style too!

  22. i love beige but how do u keep it clean?? like after a few yrs it will have so many marks and stains that is my fear, what if kids spill and eat and smear on beige fabric sofa???

  23. I'm not soo big on the whole black and white theam but you really made it wrk for your home and I love that! I think 🤔 that a collection of brassy mirrors 🪞 grouped together and climbing high on the wall above the mantel behind you would be stunning and would really refine the look you already have

  24. I think the word you were searching for to describe "beige on beige" is insipid. Definition "lacking in qualities that interest, stimulate or challenge: dull, flat." Agree with you for not choosing it for your home.

  25. I love dark brown/ cream w alittle beige, and a few seasonal color pieces mixed in.
P.s. You are delightful! (Hubby too!)

  26. Do you think everyone that went all beige everything are going to eventually go back to white?

  27. Ok I think dried flowers in general are kinda timeless but… PAMPAS GRASS. Everybody went SO HARD on pampas grass!! For the boho-desert-millennial mom look. It was so oversaturated that now we’ll forever associate pampas grass with 2015 boho. /: more unique dried florals are always great tho. (Tbh whenever someone gives me a bouquet, I just keep it around even after it’s dry/dead, I think they’re still pretty. But I have kind of a dark aesthetic like that so >_> )

  28. I painted my walls Accessible Beige which I still love. I have a large window and found beautiful sheer beige curtains. Loved it at first but after three months, I’m over it. I think it was all the texture I loved. Waiting on new white sheers to come in.
