Join Flower farmer and florist Georgie Newbery as she has a chat with plantswoman, perennial expert, and plant nursery owner Sue Beesley of @bluebellcottagegarden.

Georgie and Sue met on Twitter years ago and Georgie’s always been impressed with how cleverly Sue runs her business: by being careful not to spend money where she needn’t, Sue has created a business where re-investment has made an incredible garden which inspires her visitors and creates a market for the perennials she grows.

Sue is a generous mother hen to other small businesses as well, for example Gemma of Colourwheel Garden and Ben of Higgledy Garden, both of whom have used Sue’s Bluebell Cottage Gardens as a base as they’ve started or grown their own ventures.

Like Georgie, Sue is not just interested in the plants and gardens she grows, but in the business process of making them work efficiently, which makes those businesses greener, leaner, and more sustainable for years to come.

Georgie offers a number of online small business workshops that may be of interest, including:

The Lifestyle Business (Living The Dream) Workshop – https://www.commonfarmflowers.com/collections/online-workshops/products/small-business-workshop-living-the-dream

The Social Media For Small Business Workshop – https://www.commonfarmflowers.com/collections/workshops/products/small-business-workshop-social-media

The Career Change Flower Farmers Workshop – https://www.commonfarmflowers.com/collections/online-workshops/products/career-change-flower-farming-online-online-workshop

The Flower Farmer’s Year Workshop – https://www.commonfarmflowers.com/products/the-flower-farmers-year-online-workshop

The workshops take place online and so you can join in from around the world. And we always record them and send the recording out to you afterwards, in case you can’t join live, or the children / dog / neighbour interrupts you, or the internet stops working.

Have a look at the website and book yourself the sessions which appeal to you. You can see our workshop calendar here https://www.commonfarmflowers.com/pages/workshop-calendar

If you’re booking a place on our workshops the website will ask you to choose a delivery date – any date will do! And if you can’t join our sessions live then you are still very welcome to book as we send the recording and notes of the workshop out to everyone afterwards, so you can download the session and refer back to it as and when you need to.
