Using my very scientific methods, I’m setting out to learn what happens when you ONLY have GARDENERS in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
What is Dreamlight Valley?
Disney Dreamlight Valley is a life sim game similar to games like Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley. In it, you’ll help your favorite Disney characters re-build Dreamlight Valley and bring it back to its former glory. If you like cozy games like ACNH and Stardew, but wish you could spend time with your favorite Disney characters, Dream Light Valley is for you.

I’ve seen a tip pop up that says ALL your specialists buff the activity you just need to have a friend with you I have mainly gardening buddies and it’s by far the most active skill the more I’ve added the more it pops bonuses all other skills rarely do anything for me though because of it randomly started adding more mining buddies the more I had the more the bonus activated keep your eyes on the tips or do tests it is a thing 🙂
it tells you this information in the tutorial tips when first playing the game.
What did everyone assign Maui to? I couldn’t decide. I think I just gave him digger lol. I wish I could change that now… but I will lose all my star path rewards if I restart…
when you press B, it says it 🙂
If I do recall the game does tell you this although rather vaguely. Its good to finally have solid proof.
um…. no…. lol 😆
This has almost convinced me, but there are still other potential factors that could be at play. For example, what if it's not about the number of gardeners but the one you're using at the time? What if the characters you unlock later in the game are what provides more yield?
Thoughts?
Great video!! I wonder what would have happened if:
– you used the same character each time you harvested
– you used newer companions vs older companions, do older companions have an even more increased harvest when new companions are added to the total
– if there is a difference between the characters, eg does Elsa harvest more than Anna in general
– what happens if someone repeats the experiment EXACTLY like yours (adding companions in the same order, using the exact same companions for each harvest)
This is really cool!! I generally add more gardeners because they are easy to level up.
Hard disagree! Money is cheap as frick in this game, who needs more millions $? BUT making Scar a mining pal means he’s leveled fast just from his quests, plus, more iron! Iron iron iron.
I made him a forager since he's an animal… and animals hunt and forage for food.
I was considering making him a fisher since no other fishermen exist on his side of the map and it was obvious most of his favorite daily gifts would involve fish (he's a cat).
I mean this is cool and all but what is with the other stuff. Like Jewels or Fish? And such…and isnt it Boring when most have the same ability?. Not to be mean, it a honest question.
Do you think they'll patch this out though? It seems like it wasn't an intentional part of the game. Love the dedication to the game science!
I really wanna see a comparison between just 1 level 10 farmer, and the current max of 16 farmers
Well I never noticed you could pick what they could do till I saw a tiktoker….I have all Gardners except 2 🤣
Most of my characters are for gardening lol.
I have 1300 pumpkins daily and it's just fun
I made Donald a gardener as I figured he needed a hobby that would encourage him to chill (spoiler alert: it didn't work.)
You’re amazing and hilarious. Def got a new subscriber. The socks part had me dying 😂
First off, I love this video for showing the increase per gardener with maths and all. I do however need to point out the game does tell you that the more villagers you have assigned to a certain role the better they each become.
I’m willing to bet the increase is based on your characters level and has nothing to do with the number of gardeners you have. It’s a good experiment but you should add a new buddy with a different job and see if your harvest still goes up.
Wish I had seen this before I played it myself, but I was too impatient and wanted to play the update immediately xD
Did your character level up during the experiment and could that have had an impact?
I didn't expect the reason you gave. I thought Scar should be a gardener since he likes to lay on my crops whenever I'm gardening, and the least he could do is compensate me for it.
I won't what your numbers would give if you did access the bonus shiny pumpkins… from my understanding the likelihood of getting the bonus shiny plants increases based on your gardening buddy, their level, etc. So, would the number of bonus shiny veggies increase along with how many extra your buddy finds?
I wonder if this works woth all the roles. Digging rewards need to be more common, especially if your quest bugs while trying to help Minnie 😡
I'm almost never gardening, I hate it. It's so boring for me, I prefer mining and cooking for the star coins.
I LOVE that look at 0:44!
I've only got one field with one hundred plots. A pumpkin harvest usually nets me 250 pumpkins which I use to make three pumpkin veggie platers (It makes more money than the pumpkin puffs). Just by doing that, I'm well beyond four million star coins. Also, a tip I got from another video, trap your companion in a cage or fence while you harvest to keep them out of your way. When you're done, release them and they will give out their bonus items all at once.
I wish we could reassign character roles…. I didn’t think much about it when I first started the game so I randomly assigned roles… didn’t help I didn’t know who I assigned what. Wish I could change it now based on what their preferred activities are.
You are totally right, when I made another gardener level 10 I started to get more harvest!
You pick sooo fast! Cries in Switch.
Hey, just so you know, you can hold the dig button to dig in a line just like planting or harvesting!
AMAZING analysis!!!!!!
Oh darn I already have him as a miner. Because I had only 1 already so yeah..
This is amazing on all fronts
Doesn't the game straight up tell you at some point that the bonuses increase with more companions in that role? I was pretty sure that was public knowledge, if not common knowledge.
Nah, I made him a digger because he likes to dig the graves of his enemies.
