In today’s video we take the time to look at what is doing well and what is doing not so well in the garden. A continuation of the good, bad, & ugly collab I participated in for the 2020 season. I love being able to share all aspects of urban gardening, including the struggles and fails.

Thank you for watching! We really appreciate it!

  1. Kira it’s been a tough year it’s been a bad year for growing. All over the place weather, and bugs oh my gosh lots of pest issues, so many out of your control factors. You have several beautiful beds. I see a lot of post about the issues this year. The mosquitoes are insane I ha e so many bites on my face it’s really bad. I am trying for Fall crops we shall see? Are you doing Fall crops? I pray for abundant crops if you do! Have an awesome week Kira! ❤️ Wendy🐞🦋🌸

  2. Et some Diatomaceous Earth and get them!! Also moving the beds around where everything grows make a difference – but the eggs in teh soil are so hard to deal with!! Been there too!! I wish I could grow in beds in my front like you do but my grass grows straight over the top in record time – and underneath too! 🙁 so I a using grow fabric – professional grade – and putting raised beds on top – Okra is like 4 feet tall and starting to produce.

  3. Hello Neighbor. I been drowning plants too! The rain we have been having is relentless. Can't keep spray on the corn so the worms are having a hay day. Lost a lot of plants this year do to root rot. Your flowers look amazing. Love the sunflowers. Sad they look under the weather. Maybe todays sunshine will help. Thanks for sharing. Happy Homesteading. O ya I am still working on getting some raspberry starts soon for us. They were having some issues with them so I have been helping nurse them back to health. I will keep you updated.

  4. I hate squash bugs, they’re so hard to get rid of – I’ve got them, tons of them & seems like the more I kill the more I see – yuck! I’ll have to pretreat and be very diligent next year to try to keep them at bay

  5. Everyone seems to be having trouble with rain and vine-pests this year!

Rain really helped our tomatoes and peppers go to town, but drowned out our potatoes and peas. Thankfully we only lost squash to peats…our watermelon and cucumber are producing tons still.

  6. Oh the Bermuda grass… it's driving me crazy! I have to have a new plan to block it next year. I FINALLY have cucumbers and almost some tomatoes. I finally let the chickens in the squash bed to eat the squash bugs. Oh what a year, I'm right there with you.

  7. Thank you so so so much for this video!!! It was so encouraging seeing this!!
