  1. I dont have much experience with bulbs but my friend wants tulips for her wedding in September next year. Im gonna try indoor planting of these by popping them in the fridge until they need to be planted. How will they know its not spring right lol pray for me

  2. The squirrels here in Indiana love to dig up my bulbs. I have a few plants that were my mom's I pray they don't dig them this fall/ winter.

  3. Hi. Everything looks wonderful. I have heard that Anemone is a great pairing with bulbs, to hide the waning bulb foliage. I don't know whether you can grow Anemone where you are….I am in 7, and am really looking forward to seeing how well it camouflages my spring bulbs next spring.

  4. I plant new bulbs every autumn/spring to build up what surprises I can get out of my gardens. This year I began thinking about white iris when they popped up surprising me that I forgot what was planted the year before. I bought rare heirloom daffodils to pop in this year as a spring surprise. The hardest part is hungry squirrels, but by over planting I’m sure to get enough to bring me loads of smiles.

  5. Bulb foliage tends to linger much longer than I want it to. Have ended up moving all bulbs to the back of beds. Early spring there isn't much up anyway so they show but by the time their foliage looks awful, they are in the back and nicer fresher looking things are what I see.

  6. I love the plantings, birdbath and bench around your shed! It is very attractive and inviting. Your 450 bulbs will look beautiful when they bloom. It's chilly down here on the Alabama coast this morning. It feels great.

  7. Good luck with your bulbs. There was a piece of property out on the highway near us that had been a mobile home site in years gone by. Everything was gone and the parcel of land was for sale zoned "commercial". I contacted the realtor for permission to dig the daffodil bulbs that still came up every year.
We made 3 trips and dug about 1,000 bulbs; planted them everywhere, shared them with everyone, and they live on in my garden…my neighbors gardens…my kids gardens…the mailman…UPS guy…you name it…free daffodils for everyone. I hope you enjoy yours.

  8. I would go ahead and put in some flagstones at the bottom of the stairs. No sense trying to fight Mother Nature and the pups!

  9. Oh yes all the bulb planting 😂 I’m three days in and my wrist is killing me 😅 fantastic job Mathew 💕 they’re going to be amazing in Spring 🥰

  10. So jealous! We have hundreds of bulbs to plant. It is just too warm here in New England. No frost or freeze yet. BTW The Charm Offensive and Topsy Turvy are blends — I think there are two different daffs in them

  11. I like to hit the fall sales on smallish shrubs and perennials, and pick up some spring bulbs while I’m at it. After planting each shrub or perennial, I tuck some bulbs in around the plant. This is especially great for plants that disappear in winter and come up late; I see the circles of bulbs and know not to try to plant anything in the ‘empty’ spots!

  12. I find that late blooming tulips are most important type in my garden. That's because even though the perennials are actively growing, they're really not at their best yet. There's this lull in the garden when the beautiful spring color is gone and almost nothing is still in flower. The exception are roses, larkspur, late tulips, and bearded iris.

  13. Can you show us when you plant the plugs. I'm not sure I have ever seen one. But I have heard of them.

  14. Rutgers University recommends the benefits of a clover lawn: resists pet urine; outcompetes weeds/no pesticides required; nitrogen fixing-naturally self-fertilizes and can grow in poor soil; drought tolerant; regular summer mows of 2” prevents buds from flowering and reduces bees.

  15. We had snow tonight. I'm north of US 70. I'm not ready. But I can now dig my Dalhia. I can't wait to see your garden this spring.

  16. I planted 100 of the woodland blend last year and added 200 more this year. It's so exciting to see them coming up so early in the spring!

  17. I also live in Ohio, Chillicothe. I was wondering where do you get your plugs? Love your videos and your content great job
