How to Grow Bitter Gourd from Seed Germination | Garden Tips in English | Bitter Melon



Todays Video shows you how to quickly germinate bitter gourd plants from seeds, also called bitter melon and then transplant the seedlings into a container. Most of our Garden Tips Videos in English and full Ultra HD 4K quality with CC.

Th Vegetable Bitter Gourd with botanical name Momordica charantia, is considered to have medicinal value in lowering blood sugar levels in diabetic patients. Bitter gourd plant is a fast growing warm seasonal climbing plant that can be grown in any season in tropical climates.
Here to germinate the bitter gourd seeds, we are using the Paper towel methods or the tissue paper or toilet paper method. Infact this saves us many days, and the seeds sprout within 3 to 5 days with this method.
So, as usual what I do is take some bitter gourd seeds and soak them for atleast 12 hours in water.
Then place them in a tissue paper like shown here and then spray some water over this.
Then finally place this inside a zip lock polythene bag and keep it in a warm place like in your germination counter if you have made any or under a closed wash basin or kitchen counter.
Then you can check after 3 – 5 days for sprouts.
I got the sprouts started in 5 days and I waited for 3 more days before transplanting the sprouts into a container.
The soil you need is a well drained soil. My potting soil for vegetable gardening contains – 40 percent garden soil, 30% cocopeat, 10 % Perlite and 20 % compost like vermicompost or powdered decomposed cow dung or horse dung powder.

Then finally you can transplant your 2 to 3 weeks saplings to a larger container.

    It Works 💯% i have germinated bitter gourd seeds as in the same method,but i saw this video after my seeds are sprouted , seeds will start to sprout on the 5th day and it will grow to big day by day. This is the best and easy way to sprout the seeds.

    I doesn't make the seeds to soak in water for 12 hours, i used a air tight container and placed folded paper towel or tissue paper in it and put 3 bitter gourd seeds and sprinkled little bit of water to wet the tissue, i disnt cover the tissue around seeds(as shown in the video).
    The seeds started to sprout from the 5th day, from the 6th day it will grow in the large size(it depends on the container you use) i used a small snack air tight box.
