  1. Unlike most other garden trees, Japanese Maples have a special allure and appeal that is apparent whether they are young nursery plants or venerable old, fully mature specimens. Here's a little video that celebrates their dignity and charm, and I hope encourages more of us to grow and enjoy them in our gardens.

  2. Excellent review. Thank you! I just purchased a Bloodgood Maple for a planting bed in the front of my house. It will be a wonderful tree to see each day I leave and come home.

  3. I'm being told by our local greenhouse not to put it in front of my house due to sun heat. Would you agree? Are they too fragile in full sun?

  4. Enjoyed your video! Thanks so much for posting it. And your accent is lovely. Can you recommend a Japanese Maple for me? I want one that I can grow in a pot on my townhouse patio in Boulder, Colorado. I have dappled sun to part shade and am in zone 6a. Can you recommend some smaller varieties with upright growth habit that are green in summer and red in fall? I am not a fan of the burgundy/purple/pink colors, but I do want a nice bright red in the autumn. I can't wait to try out one of these beautiful trees; I have admired them for years.
