HOW MUCH does a RECREATION POND COST?? Swimming in a Natural Pool
A question I ALWAYS get, “How much does this cost?” Today, we are looking at Recreation Ponds, Swim Ponds, Natural Pools and talking about how much they cost. Also, we’ll go through what it’s like to live with and take care of one of these recreation ponds with our good friend, Alan Decker from Decker’s Pondscapes in Pattersonville, NY

Wow…it costs more than my new home. Its very beautiful though, but only for the rich.
to poor to watch this great pond by the way 👌
Wow I literally felt myself stop breathing for a second after he said $250-$275,000 including the structures. That’s an entire house value. I’ll tell you what the guy must be killing it in his business and wrote all this off on his business taxes. The whole yard is fantastic but you gotta be quite wealthy to write this check.
"one sixty five".
That didn't even register in my brain for minutes
In Germany it is much more expensive
Absolutely stunning!
Man, I look at the date this video was released and all I can do today is chuckle sadly.
I mean, yeah it's very pretty and all, but you're talking about basically paying for another house again. Sure it's nice if you have $250k to throw around, (with multiple kids even!) but let's face it: most folks don't. We can look at that and dream, but that's as far as it's gonna go when actually pulling the trigger would mean 30 more years of payments to the bank.
I feel like much of the money that they threw at this pond is wasted. Because I am sure I could build it myself by hand for a tiny fraction of the cost.
Would love to have something like that in my backyard if I had the room, most of the houses around me , sit in a lot size area of 8 thousand square feet. (With a inground pool and a few palm trees)
I got a good idea about the cost now. I also found out I don't need to look any further into this as an option.
Great info we have a river running through our property making it so easy for us to build two dipping pools. So much fun having water in the landscape.
wow
Absolutely wonderful Love it!! I want one 💙
$165,000 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤪🤡🧐
$165k Nothing natural about spending as much on your pool as you did your house… thats INSANE.
how do you keep snakes out?
What a dream! You have ruined regular pools for me, this is my new goal! Lol!
Beautiful.
My parents built a beautiful one, bigger than this, with farm fish, for $12,000. My dad practices with his scuba gear in it. That one looks like you can’t even swim, its so tiny. 🤨There’s no way in the world I would pay someone to build something like that for the price of a house. My parents have plenty of money, but rich people are insane.
Why do you need to keep buying bacteria, does it not balance as an ecosystem?
Where does the water come from? I live in Central Texas where water is not plentiful.
Can this be done in Hawaii? Have any suggestions on who can help us?
Do they only work in New Jersey? I’ll be looking to put in a pond in South Carolina. And how do you keep out snakes, snapping turtles, and other things that you would not want to get in the pond?
david pagan butler does this stuff for a fraction of the price. If you have disposable income this is pretty cool
Ill never be wealthy enough to own one of these. It is my dream. this one is particularly beautiful. Would love to see how much its changed in 2 years.
This is awesome but who has $250k laying around for a backyard pond? Even people with million dollar+ houses probably couldn't afford that.
Is it possible to have a set up like this that's totally of grid?
Cost of material about 35k, cost of labor another 35k. 165k is about 100k in profits. Not bad, except nobody will pay that. Depending on where in 2020 this would have sold for about 85k-95k. 165 is BS.
165,000?! Holy shit
$165,000?
This is a work of beauty. If I had a big enough garden, this is what I would put in it. Fantastic.
I don’t see “swimming”
In this pond. I see floating and wading. Let’s face it. It’s not big enough to do anything. Jumping into it too I guess. ONTH, it’s absolutely beautiful.
Might be ok to look at, but I would never swim in one. Way too many parasites can develop and grow in that water…and who would pay that for a pond? lol
Doing a lot of heavy lifting with the term "ecosystem" when the pond has no fish. It's basically a pond for pussies. Beautiful though, and I'd rather swim there than a sterile swimming pool.
That is so pretty
I can afford a kiddie pool.
I hadn't realized people were investing this much in their back yards!
Too expensive. I'd do the digging myself and save 10k, maybe 3 months yeah. Buy the linear online for maybe 2k. To get the rocks there is the issue. Probably 15k. Water pumps and home made filters max 3k.
My god let the owner talk 🙄
