Fall of the year is in full swing in the mountains of Appalachia! Gardening has slowed way down, but there’s still fall garden things to tend, heater wood to split, and beautiful leaves to enjoy. We love spending time in the great outdoors!

  1. It is sweet you keep all the girls treasures. Matt is very patient with all your clutter. I'm a clutter person also and we are always on the hunt for new ones.

  2. Matt, you are being trapped by "stuff".Get out of hearing range with chain saw.Funny!!

  3. I've seen a squirrel wolf on one in my yard sticking its head out of the skin.
    Creep show!

  4. There is a squirrel season? My daddy used to shoot them all the time and we ate them quite often. His cb handle was Squirrel because he was always shooting them.

  5. I love looking at the leaves in the mountains. The background behind you and Matt is breath taking! I also like when you’re driving along, and you come across one of the pull offs just to look off in the horizon, you see the different color of leaves blending together looking like a patch work quilt. Hopefully, Lord willing were looking to come up in the mountains this Saturday, not sure which part, but it’ll be to get some apples and maybe some cabbage, and who knows what else.
And Saturday after that we’re wanting to head up to Grand father Mountain. I’ll just be glad to get up there and breath the fresh mountain air. I have always had a love for this part of the world!

Y’all talking about those days out of school back in the 70’s because of snow. Yeah it was fun going sledding, building a snowman. But along late Spring when you ready for school to let out, and you had to make up those missed days, that wasn’t much fun.

  6. i love the Indian summer…. whas born in Ontario Canada…68 years ago…..wonderful memories…..enjoy y'all…

  7. I so miss living between two hills. Growing up I didn’t like living in the country. I was to far from anything. Now I so appreciate living between those two hills. Beautiful country you live in!

  8. Such a satisfying feeling to have those types of jobs accomplished. You sleep so well on such nights and delight the next day to see the results. Everything looks so good there Tipper. I gotta tell y'all I have tried almost all those popsicles and we had to give the coconut box away (and I do love coconut, Mounds bars, yada yada). I love the strawberry, mango, peach. Haven't yet tried watermelon. THANK YOU TIPPER AND MATT! 🙌🏼

  9. Huskvana is the phonetic way of prouncing the Swedish brand chainsaw, but who cares if you mis-pronounce a word. It dosen't matter because we love your accent and Appalachian special words. That metal tub would make a great planter.

  10. Ain't nothing like a mess of fried squirrel, mashed taters, and cornbread! I've canned rabbit and squirrel, really good!

  11. The trees are so beautiful. Imagine having that kind of beauty outside your door! No wonder you spend so much time on your porch.

For Granny & Pap's wreath, why not use a grapevine wreath as the base? It would match the seeds, it's natural, and it will hold up pretty near forever. You can get one for about $7, or you could probably even make your own.

  12. I just love your videos so much, I was born in 1958 the year your sweet grandma graduated. I just love to see you cook and Matt come in and fix his plate, there is so much 💕💕

  13. My husband bought me a Milwaukee battery-powered chain saw and I LOVE IT!! I like to do work outside when he's at work but could never get his gas powered one started!! He also bought me a mini one and let tell you, that little one is super handy
