🌳 ABOUT ME: Hi, my name is Daisy. I live in South TX – in a town close to Houston, TX. We are in Zone 9a. I am married and have 3 beautiful daughters. 2019 was my first year gardening and it was in a suburban area with a small backyard. I had a backyard high-density orchard with over 30 fruit trees and 11 raised beds we built Feb 2020 for our Vegetable Garden. Now we recently moved to a 3.5 acre lot where we are expanding our growing capacity and taking you on this journey with us. I hope we can learn together and I can inspire you to live a happier/healthier life! Keep Growing, Keep Smiling.

looking good
you could lay something like chicken wire over the beds to keep the dog out. Or build some floating row covers. There are tons of videos on how to build raised bed covers here. (great for getting ideas on how you want to build them) Critter proofing is a good thing specially with as many as you have. Personally I like the idea of building them with hardware cloth or chicken wire. Then you can easily cover them with fabric or plastic depending upon your needs. Keeps critters out and can help extend your growing through frost times. That is an amazing property you have going there!
I can't wait to see your garden once everything is complete and filled out. In the meantime, it's looking good.
Beautiful!
I'm from the Houston area as well, and I'm relieved to know that my garden wasn't the only one struggling this year. The heat and drought this year was unbearable and relentless. The temps have finally started cooling down and my poor garden is really bouncing back and producing fruit. Hopefully we can keep the frost away and get some time to make up for these past 6 months of 100 degree weather. Can't wait to see your garden all finished!
It’s all coming together. What kind of dog is the light colored dog. …cutie
Don't feel bad about the plants not doing very well this year. First year raised beds usually take 6 months to a year to get the bacteria and fungi growing, and the wood products can also tie up nitrogen, causing plants to be a little stunted. Plus, this was just a bad year for growing with all the high temperatures and dry conditions. Things should look much better this spring.
Everything is looking good! Love the pavillion. I think everyone's garden suffered this summer. I don't think anyone was expecting the heat that we had. Even my seedlings look kind of beat up. I'm hoping they take now that we will get some cooler weather. Looking forward to see what you're planting this fall.

Dogs will find the garden to be a nice Cool place to walk or sit or lay-down in, during the heat of summer.
You need a fence!
Very impressive switch in investment practices. I'm no fan of the 50 hours per year I spend mowing but there just isn't any outdoor space with the $500k homes in Houston.
I still think you might ought to get an engineered drainage plan designed in case the quotes are affordable, like a golf-course. The grass has quite a few bare spots & some of the trees have exposed roots that is caused by compacted soil created by a high water-table(standing water around the trees is compacting the soil that those roots are sitting on).
