  1. I have had success cutting roses back, planting in pots and keeping them in the shade and waiting for the root system develop before planting in the landscape.

  2. Fun to see! I would love to see another garden tour. I realize not everything is looking like you want it to yet, but it would be fun to see a full garden tour chaos and all!

  3. Boxwoods are my nemesis! For me, they are a maintenance nightmare! I'm so happy that I replaced some of them with lavender! The lavender have had beautiful blooms, incredible fragrance, and have been extremely hardy and virtually maintenance free! 🙂

  4. I know your secret! You dream, plan, and think out loud about future garden while showing us current garden activity while showing us progress made on past activity. We are so included! Your secret is now out – I'm totally addicted to every show just like walking in my tiny garden, checking on plants, planting something new, and planning always planning for future garden.

  5. Talk about opening a can of worms! When you decided to buy the Hartley did you imagine everything else that went along with buying a Hartley? Your yard is almost completely torn up!

  6. Good morning Laura and family 👩‍👩‍👧‍👦
awe can't wait for next year, roses were saved boxwoods planted yay. L🙂🙂king good. Have a great rest of the morning 🍁👋

  7. When you were planting those roses I thought “hey ma” by Cam’ron was about to start playing 😂 I was like wow this is a new direction in their music choice 😅

  8. Just a great video today. Hope you roses you took out today do well. And don't die. Poor Aaron hand. Done that a few times in the past myself and l am sure so have many other people. Loving your new box hedge now its finished. With new box. Everything coming alone so nicely now and so beautiful to. Just a inspiring video. I am so thankful for watching your videos and l am sure many of us are to have you to inspire us to do well in our gardens. With all your help tips and information you give us. So thank you.

  9. So glad you got the boxwoods planted and saved the roses-I have a hard time seeing plants get bulldozed too. I took your advice and got my clearance shrubs planted instead of overwintering in their pots. I’ve been wanting to create a privacy screen from the neighbors house, so I just cut out circles of grass and plopped them in lol. I’m sure a new bed will follow next year 😊

  10. I have both hardscaping and landscaping to do next spring/summer and I'm loving these videos. So much inspo!

  11. You could make a small concrete, brick, gravel, or flagstone landing for the bridge over the pond to make it work with the grass and mowing that Aaron was mentioning. It might be kind of nice to do that anyway so you could flank the bridge with benches or pots 😊

  12. I had the same issues as you Laura, in fact I bought them because they are named Vanessa and its my sister name and my favorite color. But the first year they bloomed white and very small blooms. I was a little disappointed but the next spring they came out amazing. I garden in 7 B, maybe thats how they perform. 😊

  13. This isn’t my property and I realize I have no say, but somebody will have to bring me some smelling salts if you put that rusty arbor anywhere near that gorgeous Hartley. I beg you to spare an old lady. 🙏

  14. Please help someone. I live in a small town in Texas and don't have an arborist near me. I have 4 Taylor Junipers and it's their first winter. How should I help them get through the summer. They are around 5 feet . Should I wrap??????

  15. “I don’t know what I think. I don’t know where the electrical is” 😂. I cracked up!

  16. Always admire your hard work!!! Maybe establish a magnificent ROSE garden filled with all beautiful DA, Kordes, Meilland roses as well as those rare varieties of roses from Asia.

  17. Way to go Laura !! Yea I currently have a Rio Samba and I’m hoping it does better for me next season. Also, wet by your parents garden center and what wonderful people your mom , dad and sister are. Such a beautiful place. ❤

  18. Hi Laura! Love your channel, I really appreciate your joyful gardening!! When I transplant anything, I reduce the foliage on the plant by 1/2 to 2/3. It reduces the stress on the newly transplanted plant and gives it a better start! Happy gardening sweet friend!!😊

  19. Roses are tough. I’ve had to abuse many a rose in my lifetime and they made it just fine. Planted a bunch of roses then moved. Intended to correctly dig them up and take with me but was so exhausted from moving that I ended up just going out and yanking them out like weeds and then replanting at new house and they flourished. Then I had another rose that had been so abused and I decided I just had to move it to another spot where it would have better care and it was middle of 100 degree summer. But I did it and replanted and then babied it till it was happy again.
