Here are the final results and harvest from my Off-Grid Self-Watering Container Gardening System. I think the purple carrots are just amazing. Even though the plants had full sun and all the water they wanted I felt they grew slowly. For the last few weeks I started feeding them with the Mittleider Natural Mineral Weekly Feed Fertilizer. They really liked it and put on a lot of new growth.

Nice work! I went through all of your bucket playlist last night getting ready to set mine up here in Vegas. Almost my entire property is concrete, cool deck or flagstone so this is the best option for me. I really appreciate that you took the time to go back to edit, note and update all of your older video's. I'll try to document and keep you posted. Thanks for you efforts!
You're awesome! Thanks for giving this a try. With the right fertilizer it really does great!
This is an amazing bucket garden. Do the purple carrots have a different flavor? I can't wait to start my lil garden. Thank you!
What was that plant you were forcusing on at the end of the video? Looks a might strange. I planted carrots last year. Put some in a container and others right out in the garden. The ones in the garder were close to monsters. Ive never grew them that big before. This was my 3rd of 4th try on carrots. The container ones, well that didnt do all that well. Im going to transplant them and see if i cant havest seed off them. Cause they're heirlooms. Good idea in video. Have a goodun.
I am setting up this system for a friend of mine this weekend. Those purple carrots were some amazing results. Thanks for the update!
Very nice results. Blessings!
I enjoyed seeing. Great for those who don't have much real estate.
Oh My! Look at those carrots! I think you have a variety to stick with! Amazing!
Great video! Your videos have inspired me to try the container garden.
do you utilize your plant container every week?
Please view my Off-Grid Self-Watering Container Gardening System playlist. All of the videos are there.
Yes, ditto what Tim said on your editing. It is also very helpful that you put in Amazon links, etc. for the various products that you reference.
You said at the end of the video that the sand/sawdust mixture would work as long as the weekly feed was used. Will the sand/sawdust mixture work in the same way as the soil does to wick up water, or would more watering be necessary?
Wow – how did you protect that broccoli from flies and butterflies? I lost almost all of mine last year to butterflies laying eggs and producing dozens of caterpillars…
I have considered that but have not tried it since I had my buckets connected to my rainwater catchment system. In order to add fertilizer to the water you would have to have a 5 to 55 gallon bucket that you could mix it in and control how much water the fertilizer is mixed with. Then you would have to watch for the 5 to 55 gallon bucket to empty and remix.
Whenever I saw worms or caterpillars I sprayed with BT. That got rid of them all in a day or two so I had no losses. Please watch my, "Organic Pest Control for Vegetable Gardens" video for more info.
I'm really not sure because I haven't tried it. If you do please let me know if it worked since others have asked too.
What do you want to know? It is all still working as good as the day I built it.
That is the idea. For those who own a home and really want to enjoy gardening with great yields this is a little confining. But it works great none the less.
The only reason I grew it is because it looked so cool! It is Broccoli Romanesco.
The taste just like "regular" carrots and are red inside. They are very cool looking.
I am an a carrot lover. I put them in alot of things.
3:20 – Moooo!
People need some way to cross breed the plants so they are not standard monsanto- or other seed companies copyrighted patents.
Beautiful plants! I will definitely be applying some of this to my container garden next year.
