Growing Melons, Watermelon and Golden Korean Melons each year in container gardens. Some years back we bought a Korean Melon at a store and since then we keep on growing them from just those seeds. The seeds seem to last great for a few years with almost all growing after being stored in my seed book in an envelope, they like the hot weather best.

This is TULLE that Great Fabric SO CHEAP and last all year outside here, here is an aff. link to check out, many colors, I usually get one of the greens, but any color will work great: http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5575376117&toolid=10001&campid=5338267736&customid=&mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2FTulle-Fabric-Bolt-54-X40yds-Wedding-Bridal-Party-Favor-Decoration-Tutu-Craft%2F381670793265%3Fvar%3D650737116165

  1. The birds have helped so much with our pest! Love the idea of using yarn for a DIY trellis. We are overjoyed this season because for the first time we have fully developed sweet melons for our kids to enjoy. They can't get enough! We definitely need all the tips and tricks to grow even more watermelon next season. Thanks for sharing.
    You do work hard! Haha

  2. I love you guys! I just wish I could meet y'all in person, but that's a really hard thing to accomplish when you live on the west coast and I live on the east coast. (I just have to pretend each video is a neighborly visit! 😉😇) So I'll see y'all later, don't work to hard!

  3. Thank you once again. This was a perfect answer to some of my questions, I have a terrible ant problem on my Butternut, and Buttercup, never had it before. Have a great day.

  4. I enjoy ur walks and instructions in ur garden. I am just beginning vegetable gardening and this is very helpful.

  5. I'll have to try this next year with our cantaloupe and melons. I wonder if you can use some kind of net once the melon gets bigger…??

  6. Yarn, great idea. Will it be strong enough?Guess your melons are probably shall enough.

About powdery mildew. Those cool conditions after rain have ruined my cucumber leaves to the point that they are Browning and crisping up but there are cucumbers further along… I really don't know whether to take the leaves off or sacrifice the end of the vine by cutting it off. Any one know?

  7. May I ask what video editing program you are using? Im trying to share my garden and I have no idea what I am doing. I used a video editing app on my computer and it took an hour and a half to upload and it was rejected on YouTube because it was 2 minutes too long for a newbie like me with a 15 minute limitation lol. Any pointers?

  8. If using yarn, make sure its acrylic or an acrylic blend. A natural fiber will decompose in the elements. I'm a knitter with a yarn obsession….☺

  9. Hi Robbie. I've been a subscriber for a few months now and I love watching your videos. I have a question. I'm starting to garden soon, I'm apartment hunting now, and I might end up with a covered porch to garden in. Do you think that will be a problem because of pollination needed for some plants? I'm really new to this, I've never gardened before but I really want to start. Please let me know what you think. Thanks.

  10. Lol,we know you work hard, and have a lot of fun too. Thank you for the Brilliant ideas Robbie!

  11. Robbie, you work hard at capturing video during your many projects!! Is it any wonder it took all morning!! You had to edit too!!

  12. I saw your video hit pause and ran outside to trim some plants and string up more tomatoes needing more support. So glad you reminded me💗🌿

  13. Im using yarn for tomatoes but you almost had me using masking tape but im all out lol ps got my fountain up made out of a 5 gallon bucket and a couple shake straws already had 3 birds!!1

  14. I can relate on taking off that top layer of clothing! But, later after the cool down after the work is done….it starts to feel chilly again! Sometimes I wish I had fur like a cat!
Robbie, those melons look great! You inspire me!
