This is a video tutorial on how I am building my wicking bed container garden. There will be a water reservoir from below. There will be an integrated worm compost tower for easy on-site composting. Could use as little as 1/10th the water of a normal garden in theory.

  1. Looks like it will work well…..consider a rain barrel connected to your garden with a float valve for auto top up.

  2. Tim… Great minds think alike! Plans for that are in the works. The water will have to be lightly filtered first somehow. That is a ways down the road… but in my head already. Got a float valve to keep the Aquaponics system topped off already. So I know which one I will use.

  3. How did the worm/compost column work out? Can you post a video about the efficacy of them? Thank you. You boxes look great.

  4. Hi I'm planning to to the same everything working well? How high was your reservoir? I'm planning for 1" of mulch in top 12" of soil and the rest for the reservoir that will be 6.52" inches for the reservoir I just need to find a way to add on the top of the submerge pipe a small breather hole for air to be with water. What do you think? here are the dimension of the storage container 45.43 in. L x 21.13 in. W x 19.52 in. H
