Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and your family John. :o)
Merry Christmas from Downunder! Just discovered your videos & loving them.
I am eager to see the new irrigation system.
minus five indoors and out, and I've been banned from growing any more plants at the office, so not much chance of growing my own food – just yet. I did have plans to purchase raw Stonecrop from the nextdoor supermarket, but then I read some reports about it being potentially toxic. Have you any thoughts on Stonecrop's dietary benefits? Opted for a toasted sandwich this evening instead, but have some new visions of my own for 2012 based on your videos. All the best..
Okra melted to mush after a frost. Glad I only planted a few as an experiment.
@SouthernGardner Im guessing because he'd need to buy an acre of land to do it, lol, have you seen how many beds he has and how big they are?! He would need to make a tonne of compost!
Help! I've got what look like powdered-sugar covered aphids on my broccoli plants. They seem to have appeared since I started covering my bed with hoops and greenhouse plastic on cold days/nights. Is there such a thing as a powdered-sugar-covered-hoop-and-plastic-loving-white-purple aphid? If so what natural thing may I use to destroy them? What do? AAAAAARRRRRG!
hi jhon what is that behide you ear.
so far Dec has been so nice in NY that I still have one small Broccoli pant still serving and a celantro plant still giving me some leaves for cooking. I know they will die but so far there still green and growing
ha it was almost 80 degrees where Im at on christmas
pansies really aren't pansies LOL
@jsbattlenet
Boston is amazingly mild this year too. Have lettuce, sage, and beets still growing strong outside. They are covered for some protection, but no hard freezes yet.
I'd love to hear more about celeriac and how to use it… what parts are edible, etc..
You rock man. You are my favourite sub.
@will6659 thats great I wish I left more growing in the garden. next time im going to keep the brocolli and celantro going and any other cold weather veggies going for as long as possible. I stopped planting when I thought the cold would comeand kill but I should not have.
What does the sign in the front yard say?
Dude, you are awesome. I have bok choy and spinach coming out the yang thanks to your fantastic videos!
Luv your vids ma, but 'warming up your car'? After a few seconds, its fine to go ahead and put the car in gear – just drive slowly until the engine is 'warmed up' – but you would drive slowly anyway through the neighborhood streets, right??? By the time you get to major roads, the engine will be ready for higher speeds. You will have increased your MPG and reduced your car's emissions. Look it up. PS – keep the great vid comming!
Refuse 'smart meter' installation.
Your variegated cauliflower is a 'sport' – a naturally occuring spontaneous mutation. It may or may not 'breed true'; in other words, the seeds from that plant may or may not yield plants that also exhibit the variegated trait. It would be interesting to see a follou-up video on that. Thanks!
Can you post a list of the top 10 veggies that you know to be really frost tolerant? Im from TN and we have pretty mild winters till Jan/Feb. So I would like to grow some in the winter, just not sure what. Thanks!
Beautiful gardens and awesome tips. We are in zone 5 mountains and want to start things under double cover outside…what of the plants you started would you recommend for very early start? And, would you start them indoors our out.
Wonderful example of my next post regarding gardening. Thanks so much for recording this. Planning to share it in the post. Thanks again.
6:52 What's than on your neck? Thanks for the frost update 🙂
Planted Strawberries here in northern Japan and over the winter they were buried under 3 feet of snow. A few days after the last of the snow melted, they were growing like crazy again!!
that's your car….lol….shame
whrre do you live?
Might be OK to have some space blankets to throw over them when needed. (Mission District)
I hate people like you and Tai Lopez that put a bad name to freedom in America
wow, i love miner's lettuce and chickweed still suffering but ok
Hi again , glad to have watched this video because I had sawn some veg indoors and they were getting bigger and bigger and honestly they had like I don't know why , some kind of distinctive odor too . For example the broccoli has like no odor but broccoli and kale ? yikes the house started to stink as soon as the first leaves ( I mean already those big ones ) started to grow and it definetely was from my plants , well maybe the soil but I am happy to know this as I got so annoyed to have to take care of them indoors which the last couple of weeks was not so easy anymore due to their big sizes and because I had like totally no more space it started to get soooo messy and I began to hate it ! so now that I know what I can just put outside , I am even now its like just five am straight away gonna do that , I was so done with these veggies ! and as usual , I so love your vids , really I do , sorry it has been a while that I said hello and stayed " a loyal fan " ;-)) but hi back again and hopefully they all turn out well with you ( crossed fingers for own vegs too haha ) bye and enjoy the weekend ! and really lots of THANK you ! xoxo
Don't let your car run that long in park
