Growing Three Sisters in buckets using our secret container gardening soil mix for planting and growing this mix of corn, beans, and squash in raised beds, buckets and containers. The problems is, we have no secrets when it comes to gardening. Your success is our success. Today we’ll cover our container garden growing medium and the soil additives we also use in our buckets, containers, and raised bed garden. Garden boxes and containers give gardeners more control over the soil and we take advantage of that. We also use pelleted seeds to ensure good seed to soil contact which improves our germination rate. We’ll show you how to space your 3 Sisters beans, corn, and squash and plant them at the correct planting depth. We also want to discuss the positive effects of phosphorus, calcium and magnesium on root crops as well as the down side of nitrogen in the soil.
Items used in this soil mix include: Potting soil, bone meal, Epsom salt, and composted chicken or cow manure. See also: Super Soil

I have a three sisters bed in a 14 by 3 foot bed. I have read that you should let the corn get a few inches tall before planting beans and I found that to be a good idea. I planted the beans when corn was 4 inches tall and they quickly overtook the corn and are now a foot taller looking for more trellis. Don’t be surprised if your beans grow faster than the corn! Interesting idea. I can’t wait to see his it goes
BLESSINGS looking forward to seeing this!!!
I love this. Now I am going outside to plant mine right along with you. 🙂
We love the three sister method. Can’t wait to see how they do in the buckets 😁 James, Cheryl
How cool, I can't wait to see the progress on this. Fun video
So interesting. Look forward to seeing how these progress.
I planted a 3 sisters in a 10 gallon grow bag and it all germinated but shortly after a hard rain flooded the bag and killed the beans but the 3 corn and one of the squash came up, the 3 corn were stunted and only got about 3 feet tall and only made 1 ear…the squash is still hanging on but looks horrible LOL.
Can't wait to see the sprouts come up!
More ppl would probably grow more if it was called three sisters in a hot tub!
I'd definitetly step my gardening game up!

Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience ❤️ Tina I really appreciate your sweet spirit. Thank you for all of you amazing and fun craft videos.🌸🌺 I'm so looking forward to seeing your garden grow and produce.
Have you ever grown corn alone in a bucket?
Wow that's a lot planted in 1 bucket.
Looking at the title I expected a couple of seeds/seedlings from each plant not 8 😯. I can't wait to see the outcome.
Good luck & happy planting guys 👨🌾👩🌾😍
What type of soil did you use?
CORPSMAN UP!
Just wondering how it turned out
Did it work? Update please!

How did your 3 sisters buckets work out?
How did it work out for y'all? Considering doing something similar. Thanks in advance
So how did it go? Is there a follow up to this video?
Interesting take on three sisters method. Do you have a link to updates? I know this is a year old but I’m now just seeing this video. I’m working at container gardening and this would be such a space saver.
Can't see a follow up to this, I guessing it didn't work?
did it work out?
Hi! What was the final result on the buckets? How did it go, and what would you do differently next time?
I cant find the follow up video!!! Did it work?
How did it turn out?
Did it work? I can't find a follow up video 😪
Since there was no update video, does that mean it didn't work? I have my bucket corn growing and am thinking about adding beans and squash when it's about a foot tall.
Have you heard of “inoculating” beans. It frees the nitrogen from the nodes.
Couldn’t find the update. Did it work?
well, how did it turn out??? I cant find a follow up video.
Such a cool idea! What were the results?
Was there a follow-up to this video. How did they go?
Don't know if this was mentioned but those nodules the beans produce have to break down and decompose in the soil so the microbes, in said soil, can convert it into nitrogen usable to the plants. A lot of people pull up everything at the end of the season and either trash, toss, or compost what's left over. As you mentioned, they did bury fish, but they also buried the stalks, stems, and leaves BACK into the mound they grew. This slowly decomposed over the winter, with the fish adding extra help in the spring when they planted again.
how did this work out? Looked through your videos but couldn't find an update.
