  1. There's also a spiritual aspect to plants. Theres an old spiritual song by The Righteous Brothers called "I Believe" an the lyrics go something like "every time I touch a leaf or see the sky, then I know why I believe". Thanks for bringing the message about horticultural therapy.

  2. This is true and I love my plants…but lately my plants are stressing me out instead (why isn't it rooting yet, what are these yellow spots, what are these pests!, and aggghhhh this plant that is now dead I bought at $15 last year now cost $250!)

  3. Very interesting episode. I was a social worker before my early retirement due to disabilities. I belong to many plant groups on facebook and this year has seen a lot of new plant parents join the group. Recently I was very disturbed by a post from a young woman who after enjoying her first plants purchased when out and bought a whole bunch of plants over a short period of time and was now stressed out and overwhelmed. There were multiple responses from new plant parents that felt the same way. I would love to have you bring V back to address this topic as well. Thanks again Jimmy. As always you did good with this one. Happy Growing.

  4. Great information and oh so true. Learning to also deal with some stress related to having plants. Learning to accept death of a plant…learning to try again…learning when or when not to give up and try something else,.

  5. In response to the allergies comment, I'm a beekeeper and I've learned that Beeswax Candles produce negative ions that will attach to the bad positive ions and make them drop down from the air. This really helps to clear a room for a person with allergies. Don't use paraffin candles because they pollute.

  6. I think the stress that can prop up is actually helpful bc it trains you to deal with stressors in a relatively low stakes scenario.
I know that one of the benefits for me, personally, in my mental health journey, caring for plants has raised some confidence, but also has taught me not to expect strides in my mental health within like. Two days. I know that a plant is gonna take time to get better, and I need to take time just like them

  7. Hey Jimmy! There is a discussion on a facbeook group I saw with some people talking about you ripping someone off for a Monstera obliqua. Do you know anything about this? The pictures show an old rotten shipping box so i thought it was fake but the the shipping label has your name on it. Then he showed pictures of a rotten cutting and screenshots of you saying you sent a different one than what you advertrised. Is this all true? I want it to be fake but there are screenshots of everything so i don't know what to think. 🙁

  8. "Horticultural Therapy"!!! I love it! It sounds much better than "my plant shopping addiction". Thank you for giving me the right terms to explain the massive credit card bills due to plant shopping since the pandemic started! Still, much cheaper than therapy and you have something tangible to show for it!

  9. Hello, i have seem some of your videos and i have really enjoy them. I would like to know the name or were can i find that plant container that you use on the kitchen hood? And how did you tied them to the hood? It is really a good idea and maybe you mentioned in another video that i haven't see yet. Thanks tons

  10. I didn't know there was a term for it, but my plants have saved my life after my son died three years ago. Literally saved my life. I think about that alot when I'm caring for them. My dogs, my fish tank, and my plants. The only things that bring any joy to my life now. I recommend to anyone struggling with grief to get a plant.

  11. Absolutely! I teach fellow plant people about the benefits of horticulture therapy for our mental health from a patient perspective. The key I've learned is MINDFULNESS. Its so important in GROWTH oh gosh I mention that all the time😆truly rewarding🌱
