Planting Summer Perennials and Gardening with Wildlife in The Quarry Garden
Planting Achillea Terracotta (Yarrow), Hemerocallis Frans Hals (Daylily), Geum Totally Tangerine, Alliums Purple Sensation and Schubertii in the Quarry Garden. Our local Badgers make a meal of the Phormium’s
The border is looking so nice and full ~ very lovely! We all have some sort of animal or weed problems to deal with and it certainly can be frustrating! So glad you decided to try again and didn't give up all together on the quarry garden. I think it is just amazing! I was going to ask if you ever had a problem with deer eating your rhododendrons? I planted one out in my woodland garden last year and the deer really did a number on it, as well as all of my Camellias. I am planning on caging them all next winter just to be on the safe side!
Your garden is gorgeous! All of the different textures and shades of green are beautiful. The Euphorbia really makes things pop. I think the Yarrow will be a striking display of color amoungest all the greenery. 🌼🍀🌱
I really like your garden. The scale of plants on the berm looks massive. I particularly liked the acid yellow of the Euphorbia caracias wulfenii! You must be in a great planting zone to be able to grow those. Believe it or not, I grew some from seeds I purchased in a mail order catalog and grew them in a pot in Michigan US zone 5. I’d bring them inside in the fall and found them to be very pungent smelling! I hope to find seeds again in a few weeks in Italy. Fingers crossed. 🤞🏻

Well ,
I have ground elder and celandine
Top trumps.
At least the celandine dies down and things can punch through it.
