Interesting. I really didn't get which part of the plant is the 'shoot'. Perhaps a leaf or stalk, or part of a root. Oh well, I'll guess I'll just eat them leaves and all.
OK, smartypants. I am totally ignorant about bamboo except that they are pretty good to eat. I want to plant some in Georgia. Any idea what variety and where to buy the tubers, scions or whatever the hell the orientals call them? I will pay a reasonable price for a few live roots. Dont warn me about the spreading. I got a few thousand acres for them to grow and it is all low land. Thanks.
