I was the millionth view!!
We laid rounded pea gravel walkways and having a terrible time sinking as we walk across it. Removing some gravel to make the depth closer to 5 cm has helped some, but any other suggestions to stabilize rounded pea gravel?
No sub base needed?
Someone dig up my yard and just left dirt I put stone gravel on top without putting plastic down first will this be a problem with insects and dirt sinking
How does the water drain if you using a weed membrane?
I have a nice big yard with space on the side too. The side yard it's just sitting there looking boring..I want to use that space too..the side yard has a slope which iam thinking of removing or adding dirt to level. After that iam gonna lay down concrete to use that space too. However, now iam debating between gravel and concrete for the side yard space ( 15ft from house to fence and 60ft long.)…my only concern is gravel getting stuck under shoes and bringing it into the house…I have very nice plank vinyl flooring.. we won't be taking shoes off to go into house.
Can i put gravel straight on to mud? Or do i need something below it
0:40 did she say 14mm or 40mm?
Great simple instructions can I use plastic membrane ( also used for roofing) quite thick ?
What is base rock?
Thank you good information 🦋
Love your video.
Very nice!
how will the water drain if you place a membrane beneath
i used weed membrane and still got weeds and grass growing through; but bare in mind , my house was built on a copse small woodland ,of which im creating an ornate mini woodland ,its took me twelve years because of my health problems and disabilities but slowly and surely it's getting there tiny bit by bit 😩
Will these stones create molds in the future? How can we keep it clean?
What are you using for the path edging?
Thank you for the video, what gravel size do you recommend best for keeping cats from using the gravel as it's litter box?
Hi I have laid blue slate at the front of the house a few years ago but have now added some trees around the edges. During all of this the blue slate has got mixed up with the soil underneath and become compacted so it now looks like I've had a landslide in the garden. I've tried to rinse the soil away from the gravel with little success, it just seems to make it worse so I've now puddles that are taking forever to drain away and it doesn't look any better when they do drain away. I don't really want to buy any more blue shale to cover my mess cos that would only increase the height of the garden and is not solving the problem. There is a porous membrane underneath so I'm not sure what's going on, any advice would be appreciated. Is there an easy way of separating the soil from the shale or do I have to dig it all up and start again. Many Thanks Nigel
I'm a female and I'm going to start doing this next week. I will have someone deliver 10 tons of 3/4 of, We will not be walking on it though. I will also build my brick BBQ. Ladies we got this.
Hello I have a walkway in the backyard on the backside of the garage. Which is concrete not quite leveled question can I lay some sand down and then some Pebbles. Reason being water pools on uneven part of slab
Thank you x
Okay so it looked like they laid some edging too but it didn’t say what it was or how to do it…
Nice
Until you want to remove them
Never use smooth stones for a pathway because the smooth surfaces allow slippage. The sharp facets of crushed rock prevent slippage. Tamping crushed rock causes these facets to automatically align, resulting in a very stable surface far superior to a pathway made of smooth gravel.
I have block paving in my front garden. Do I still need membrane?
Can I ask do these stones go green or do they stay that nice white colour all year round ?
Your alot better to lay a base layer of road crush instead of a membrane. Crush after tamped won’t let any weeds through, where as landscape fabric will always fail after a year or two.
Also road crush makes a much more stable base
Great video, thank you!
