The front yard is a great growing area for us. It is a good amount of space that receives a great amount of direct sunlight. With this space, we are also incorporating landscaping elements to make the space visually interesting for neighbors and the community. Laying different types of plants with unique colors and textures is one such method. We’re finding new pockets of growing area and using permaculture practices to help grow our food.

Weatherwise, we join most of the country and are experiencing much cooler weather. Where parts of the country are experiencing snow fall and frost temperatures,. we are seeing cooler temperatures and cloudy cover. These conditions are slowing the grow of the warm weather crops. All the while, our late planting of cool season crops happily growing.

  1. Great video. Interesting the strategy of giving peppers a living “blanket” during the winter, I’ll try it out!

  2. Everything looks so nice and lush thank you for sharing, what I don't like is when you go to harvest everything looks horrible then all the naked spots in holes

  3. Everything looks great! We really enjoy your gardening updates. I thought I saw what looked like a white iris in your front planting area. I love iris flowers! The ones I have purple flowers.
    Take care!

  4. Yuzu kosho is one of my favorite condiments. So few people know about it! Would love to see how you make yours. Also the purple color on those artichokes are gorgeous.

  5. Thanks for the tour. Glad to see your the garden is still going strong and all is well in your area. Florida zone B here so I’ll have to try some of what you are growing. I’ll definitely need microclimates spots.
