PLEASE NOTE: if you plan to put edible plants in your garden plot, please make sure your soil is not contaminated with pollutants or heavy metals. There is soil testing available. This is especially the case for urban areas, older homes, homes near refineries or freeways, etc.
This video covers how we created our in-ground garden choc full of vegetables, herbs, and flowers. The video spans over two days of work, and at the end you can get a glimpse of all the design we have done so far in the front yard. In total, there are over 20 edible plants in this bed! That doesn’t include any flowers that are strictly for pollinators. It’s pretty incredible. I hope to do a garden tour and show each plant once it grows in a bit.

Great video!
Nice update!
Ah, I love it my friend!!! Hola Randi, Sam and Pete 🙂 it definitely turned out spectacular you guys! As much as I think a raised bed in front would of looked nice, I really think this design turned out just a perfect! It is going to be so fun watching it all fill in 🙂 Love the video my friend, Sam and you make a good team and it’s nice to see you in action and Pete looks good out there checking up on you two 🙂
This was great to see. I’m removing gas’s from my backyard for my in-ground garden beds and trying to pick the “best method”. I went with lasagna gardening because it keeps the organic matter of the grass in the soil and that’s supposed to be great for soil health, but I’m worried that one year down the road, I’ll just have a huge grass patch. At least I can start again next year and use this dig it all out method if this doesn’t work! Thanks!
holy crap it looks like you had a whole damn tree buried under there. Great video by the way.
