Never fertilise if you use perennials.
How about letting the natural processes take place and skip adding unneeded material into the nitrogen cycle.
no need to rototill the soil — in fact it is better not to. also, no need for fertilizer or any other additives or chemicals. leave the plants up during the fall and winter.
The embroidery of these plants are nice too
