  1. Hi Ivan.
If you think you have problems with reds…
Mine, whilst perfectly formed, beautiful skins and not one split (so far!!), went in as reds…came out white!!!
No Idea why…it's just a mystery.

  2. I aways grow my potatoes in tubs it's just so easy all round. …….what a shame about that potatoe bed …..gardening is often a bit of a hit or miss game …..😊

  3. Thanks Ivan, that's a shame but speaking of crop rotation, I wonder if that raised bed may be a place to grow peas and beans next year to add nitrogen to it and possibly brassicas the year after. Take care and all the best. Stevie

  4. Well Ivan I feel your pain, literally as I’ve grown all my potatoes in 30 litre pots and the yield has been very poor so far, I’ve still got three tubs to empty but they are still growing well green and healthy looking, so I’m leaving as long as I can in the hopes I get a few out. The only ones that did well in fact were a few of the early’s and a few main crop that I had left over so I planted them in a raised bed . Ironic. I’m blaming the drought , I’m in Cornwall and we had hardly any rain from late April , even now we’ve had some a couple of inches down it’s still like dust. I was wondering which variety of reds you were growing as I was growing a red called Setanta , I won’t be growing them next year though .

  5. morning Ivan, sorry to see your Spuds are sad😭. 30ltrs Tubs are the way forward. I've grown Estima, Charlotte, Setanta, Maris Piper, and Sarpo Mira this year and apart from the Charlotte, which have come to the end now. The rest are still producing great clean 🥔. There is always next Season🤞🙏
