In this video, I show you five more edible plants I am adding to my self-sufficient garden.
The reason I chose these plants is that they help the garden thrive and produce a lot of food fast.
They are easy to grow, look great and provide habitat above and below the ground for beneficial insects, good bacteria, fungi and much more!

Hi Marty😊
Greetings, Marty, from Windermere, Florida zone 9b USA 🇺🇸
5 excellent choices !
You're lookin' very happy 👍
Keep it up.
How about Chokoes or Chayote squash. I’m growing it this spring. Easy to grow vine, full of good vitamins and the whole plant is edible.
That's cool about the marigold roots. I use them in my garden, too. I have a bunch of containers full of seeds I saved from last year from both the yellow and orange ones.
Great concise video packed with useful information. Thanks, Marty.
I love making little wraps with my nasturtium leaves..The leaves are smaller growing in the shade & bigger in full sun!
Hey Marty! I just picked up these, and more yesterday. I brought seeds and planted them this morning. We still get a frost sometimes at the start of October so I can’t plant out everything yet, but I’ve sprouted all my own seedlings this year
Hi Marty, we have nasturtiums in our garden. I didn’t plant them they were just here when we came. I wasn’t sure if all varieties were ok to eat. After seeing your video I will give them a try.
Marty that’s a great selection of plants and is an awesome choice for all the new gardeners out there🍺🍺
love your hat Marty!! got lots of new plants to plant up how exciting <3 love the update, my chickens are well and the compost is getting warm. feel free to check out my garden gab just did a little video
Better to sow peas direct as they have sensitive roots. Good to see a mix of flowers too..
Nice! I knew ghost were real, lol. Been a year since I had any of those spicy nasturtiums, have to go look for some next Spring.
Great choice of plants Marty. Are you going to use raised beds to future proof your garden beds from heavy rains and flooding etc?
Hi Marty, Great information for spring/summer. Thanks mate.
Really inspired me to get gardening after a move. Isn't God's creation amazing!
Science learns, and stands in awe!
Great video, Marty
Great video Marty. I'm just catching on to the companion planting thing. I have Marigolds in seed trays waiting to burst forth. Also Zinnias. Want to get those beneficials in to the gardem. I'm going to do a HUGE tomato challenge.
I always learn such practical tips and tricks from you no matter the episode Marty. Thanks for the info. Your garden is looking tip top, it’s really coming along. You should be so proud ❤
