This Japanese rock garden video will hopefully give you some ideas for developing your own dry rock garden. These DIY rock garden inspirations come from Shitennoji, Osaka (Fudaraku Garden). You can get more dry rock garden ideas from my article here https://shizenstyle.com/japanese-rock-garden-fudaraku-garden-in-osaka/ .

I recorded a walkthrough of the garden a few years ago and this video also has some analysis of the dry rock garden particulars. Shitennoji Temple and its Japanese gardens are nestled in the heart of the busy city, but they succeed in taking the visitor to another world.

“Shizen” means “nature” or “natural” in Japanese and incorporates the ideas of nature and human nature in harmony with each other. Therefore I created ShizenStyle (https://shizenstyle.com) where nature and human creativity are both celebrated. Its the blend of modern and rustic, contemporary and natural home and garden styles.

I like to studied Japanese garden design in Osaka and Fukui and am drawn to modern Japanese garden design. But I recognize the need to study traditional gardens in order to develop and appreciate modern garden design. I hope some of these videos provide some inspiration for you as well.

This video “Japanese Rock Garden Video – Osaka (Ideas From Fudaraku)” is the first I put together on my channel (hopefully I will get better at film and youtubing along the way!) so stop back weekly or click through the other videos to get more garden inspiration from ShizenStyle.
