Join us, Daphne and Ian, as we embark on our new chateau renovation projects! This week, we are preparing the domain to open our gates for the Journées du Patrimoine. We meet an electrician who can help us bring in modern electrical systems to our chateau offices. After several weeks of anticipation, we finally have the old chateau gardens cut back to reveal a peek at the original renaissance garden design!

Our beau chateau (The 500-year-old, Chateau De Lesigny), is located near Paris, France. Most of the structures around the chateau domain need a full restoration, so we are investing everything we have into making the property thrive! We are learning more about french culture and developing new skills along the way!

As a French/American UC Berkeley graduate in Agriculture (Daphne), and a U.S. Air Force Tactical Response Force Veteran/ Kinesiologist (Ian), we share a love for challenges and adventure. We have a long road ahead of us and we are excited to share the experience with you!

You can support our renovation projects by joining our Patreon Community, where you can also gain access to exclusive videos and behind the scene access with Daphne and Ian! All patron funding is used to renovate this historical French Chateau. Every patron is paramount to our chateau renovations and we thank you all tremendously!

  1. @The Beau Chateau your tiles are from a Majolica Tile Wood Stove. If you Google that you should be able to find a few to guide you on how to put it together.

  2. You got a lot done congratulations. Sorry about equipment failure. Maybe the wrong tool. Crack on when you can!

  3. Brilliant. Your chateau is perhaps the nicest of all the "French Chateau Renovation Fraternity" examples on YouTube…

  4. Such a beautiful and challenging life project! Thanks for sharing 💛. PS, I also enjoy the pace and serenity of this video it’s so refreshing to be able to watch something that is good for my nervous system reminds me a little of the PBS days!

  5. Nice! Your videos should be seen by more watchers. May I repost your channel without changing anything on the clean platform named Ganjing World? Thank you!

  6. I have just discovered your channel tonight. What a stroke of good luck. I follow many chateau owners on YouTube and your chateau is one of my all time favourites. I can't wait to follow your journey and I love the very relaxed way your videos are filmed. You are both very natural infront of the camera and a joy to watch. Good luck with your renovations.

  7. Such a beautiful chateau with the moat and chateau colors. How exciting about the garden design.

  8. I'm an avid follower of the chateau renovation channels, and yours popped up in my feed today, yay! A delight to watch, and I enjoyed your sense of humour. Cannot wait to watch more!

  9. The two best parts of this video were Daphne's decision to have a light for the balcony for wine, bread, and cheese in nice weather; also Ian's discovery of the original garden boundaries. I thought you might have been able to make them out from the different vegetation growing in patterns in the garden, but after mowing the grass I lost hope for that. Will the next step be buying a new weed-whacker or LIDAR, lol? You could pay for both if you metal-detect the garden and find French gold Napoléons and silver francs buried there.

  10. Just found your channel. You guys are amazing! With your dedication and a lot of elbow grease you can make this happen. I'm looking forward to follow your journey.

  11. Both your chateau and your channel stand out among the growing crowd of YouTube chateau offerings. It's always a pleasure to watch and listen to you both and see the impressive progress the two of you are managing to achieve. Thank you for making the time to share the trials and triumphs of this enormous project with us.

  12. Yhere is a chimney cement my grandfather used. So I know it is out there somewhere.

  13. You guys are such hard workers…People cant even begin to understand the amount of hours it takes to do all this WHILE FILMING IT.(i know,i worked in television for a long time, and i live in a(small)house in the woods.Just keeping nature from taking back the property and grounds is a big task! It's absolutely crazy…So,great respect for your work ethic. Please know that we realise it is NOT a walk in the park. But you both make it look easy, and fun.Best of luck to you☀️…hope you someday will find the time to enjoy the beautiful fruits of all your hard labour,in all relaxation, without a TO DO list that is a mile long…Greetings from the Netherlands✌️🥳

  14. I know you are very busy but you need to post more videos so that your channel will get more views. I quite enjoy your videos.
