  2. You can plant strawberries from seed but it is difficult…I recommend getting 1 or 2 yr old plants from a nursery that sells virus-free stock (so they don't die on you from disease). There are many good online nurseries. Best of luck 🙂

  3. You just learned an old gardener's trick…should Google "companion planting", to learn what plants grow better when basil grows beside them. 🙂

  7. I've grown strawberries in containers indoors in the past.. However, I keep losing the plants over the winter & I'm wondering if I'm losing them because I let them flower/fruit out the yr I get the plants (I'm always impatient to eat fresh berries). I didn't know they'll grow better when crowded. Is it still recommended to remove fruits/ flowers the 1st yr, even if the label doesn't mention it? If I use transplant fert. & establish roots that way can I let it fruit the 1st yr?

  18. HELP PLEASE!!! The weather here in TX(Houston particularly) hasn't been very garden friendly. It's somewhat "Bipolar" no pun intended. Well I recently purchased Bonnie plants strawberry. And I've noticed brown spots. How would i prune/take of the leave or stem?

  19. What do I do with my indoor strawberry plants during the winter months?  Do I keep them growing under lights in my hydroponic setup or give them a rest and if so, how do I rest them?

  20. Dear Lady, any idea how to solve the pollinating inside? All strawberry experts I told with told: You need insects like bees or do it by yourself by painting brush, otherwise the result will be low (even if self-pollinating sort). But I dont want to keep bees inside the flat…what do you do? Thanks+Rgds! Stefan

  21. Get an LED grow light with a range of 2500-3500 kelvin . Place it about 2 feet between the light and canopy of the plant in vegetative stage.
In flowering stage, place 1 foot from the canopy.
Leave the light on for 12 hours.
