Growing fruit trees in your backyard is so rewarding! Growing fruit trees can require some patience but after a few years, you will be so glad you planted them!
I am growing most of my fruit trees in an urban food forest style. Layering heights and creating a cohesive ecosystem that supports growth. I’m so excited to eat fresh homegrown fruit all year round from my home garden.

Growing fruit trees at home means you can eat fruit fresh off the tree without any nasty sprays or chemicals. You don’t need a lot of space to grow fruit trees and I have abundant fruit trees growing in pots and containers! You could grow dwarf citrus on your balcony or patio and get fresh fruit at home.
In this video, I give you a full tour of all the fruit trees I have growing at home in my backyard and I even have fruit trees in the front yard. Some fruit trees are easier to grow than others and growing Citrus is a great fruit tree for beginners as they can be really hardy and have fewer pests than others.
I have at least 15 fruit trees in my urban permaculture edible home garden here in Perth, Australia and that number will definitely rise. This video is a great way to record the growth of my fruit trees and a good reference point for anyone wanting to start growing fruit trees at home. I can already see a lot of growth since my Full Garden Tour video back in May!
I love eating fruit so it is my goal to create edible gardens with an abundance of fruit! Fruit platters all year round sounds good to me!
Let me know what your favourite fruit tree to grow is in the comments.

Ok so pineapples aren’t really a tree but it’s 15 “ish” fruit trees 🤣 What fruit trees are you growing?
Apple lime lemon lemonade mandarin orange blood orange plum x2 we need more!!!!!!!!!@!
Excited to see how the red papaya goes! Such an awesome looking plant. Nice collection you’ve got there – and yes Lemonades are the best! Haha. You should have a go with Pepinos as other small things you could fit in..? 🙂
Hey Holly, question. Why not let the blood orange tree fruit?
I love fruit trees. I'm in zone 6a and cannot grow citrus in ground so I bring them inside in winter and sit under really good grow lights. I have 2 kumquats a calamondin orange, satsuma mandarin. and meyer lemon. Also a peach.
I can’t believe you don’t have more subscribers and views. You are so underrated.. keep up the good content ❤️ love from South Africa 🇿🇦 hope your channel only grows xx
I hadn't thought about growing guava. Maybe I should! My best fruit trees are jackfruit and grapefruit, the grapefruit taste like heaven but jackfruit is too sweet for me, my kids love it though. I enjoyed your video, thanks.
How boring
Much love from LA, just plated a lemonade in the ground and I’m excited to see it take off. Any suggestions on growing it? I can’t find any info on it as it’s relatively rare
Hi Holly, thanks for the video. For the fruit trees along the fence, do you have a 'rule of thumb' for how close you space your trees? Keep up the good work
Good
would love to grow citrus fruits all year round, but I can't think of a way to do it where i live in the Ccanadian prairies where temps could go as low as -40's. citrus shrubs i know hate being indoors. I
at about 5:30, just after the papaya, what is the name of the tree?
Beautiful yard and beautiful trees🍊🍋🍊🍋
Those fruits look amazing! What's your favourite type of guava to grow/eat? I'd love to try grow one myself!
Also, I was curious to know if you have come across any citrus wasps on your citrus trees?
I love lemonade trees lol, we got a second for the backyard citrus wall we are planting, going to make them close so they grow into a hedge. We have ordered a sweet lime to go with it, so fingers crossed its like the lemonade just lime instead of lemon.
Loved this! You can never have enough fruit trees I think! 😍👌🏻
blue Java ice cream banana Tree that is a great variety if you live in the correct zone to grow it Is did really well in zone 9
Very nicely arranged garden, guava, banana, papaya are easily grown, but other fruits need more attention.
